You all gave me enough points to make a few assumptions (not conclusion). Regardless of how many times you try to prove that Athiest isn't a religion. There are a few things you should realize by now. I lost count on how many times you all mentioned "Athiest do not have a set of religious belief or practice"

Doesn't that imply that "Athiest are people who do not believe in following a set of rules and practise" ? Again, "Athiest do not believe in the existance of God". If you look at this statement closely you will realise this .

"Athiest are people who believe that there is no God". Notice how this contrarary happens when we least notice it?

If you perform or live a life believing in what you believe. which is there is no god. Than it would eventually evolve when everyone who shares the same believe that there is no good. SO basically it becomes a "religion" because more then 1 person shares the same feeling and believe .

You fail Philosophy and English Language (and that's not just because of the grammar). Going by what you said, a person may subscribe to thousands of religions simultaneously and any sentences that do not use the exact same phrasing are contradictory even if they mean exactly the same thing.

Also the invalid logical conclusion that atheists do not believe in all rules based on the premise that atheists do not believe in religious rules is exceptionally poor inductive reasoning. (You gave me enough points to make the assumption that "Athiest are people who do not believe in following a set of rules and practise" refers to any rules rather than specific rules, since: 1, that would be redundant and 2, you are an idiot.)

Whatever John said on the first comments page made about as much sense as the actual quote...

And whoever said that there is "no set definition of religion" apparently hasn't seen a dictionary in awhile.

Religion: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices

Religious: relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity

And based on that, I'd have to say that atheism *is* a religion. "Acknowledged ultimate reality" = there is no such thing as higher power (or whatever particular wording you want to use for that sentiment).

Not that *I* believe there is a god. But, like someone else said, Buddhism is a religion without technically having a diety to go along with; it falls more under the "ultimate reality" section.
