Quote# 32731

Have you thought about this - ALL HEALING IS OF GOD. Whether a scratch or an organ transplant. It is wonderful that He has enabled man to transplant organs, but HE does the healing.

Nope. We have clever systems of repair in our bodies which have evolved over millions of years. But they ain't perfect either. How does your god explanation deal with that?

I thought Benny "The Blow Job" Hinn and his bad hair-do did the healing?

So I guess the NON-healing of amputees is also God's fault. How wonderful of him to enable man to be permanently crippled.

So it would be accurate to suggest that god also causes the injuries that he subsequently heals?

Okay, I've thought about it. The answer is "No, it's not." Now what?

"It is wonderful that He has enabled man to transplant organs, but HE does the healing. "

Then why does HE need a highly trained team of doctors and nurses that all had to got to school for years?

Not to mention the medicine and the equipment and the risk of rejection and that typically somebody has to die before you can get the organs.

How I can believe in a God so dumb and helpless?

Ok, I admit I do believe in a higher power. just not the lame one this guy does..

Yeah, Buddy - it's that evil old knowledge, book larnin' and research almost gettin' in Gawd's way-

This is a little off subject, maybe, but I am reminded of the movie "Great Ball of Fire" - the scene where Jerry Lee Lewis gives his broke ass cousin, Jimmy Swaggart, a brand new car, and Swaggart says "Well, thank Jesus!"
Lewis says, "Don't thank Jesus, cousin . . . thank Jerry Lee."

Ever seen a Christian Scientist with appendicitis?

But it took thousands of years before we could develop the technology for organ donations. Never mind the fact that it needs a team of surgeons who had to go to university for at least seven years, and then there's the fact that the body could still refuse the organ and last but not least someone had to die for that organ to be donated in the first place. In short, if this is your God's ideal health plan it's pretty fucking pathetic. And I think humanity could do better in a few decades.

@Philbert McAdamia: Not much opportunity to see a CS with appendicitis; you only got about a week before he dies after refusing medical treatment.

So I don't need to go to hospital, see a doctor, or take out health insurance.

And why will I die, then?

I take it God also causes the complications that sometimes kill transplant recipients.
