Atheism is a religion. Atheists worship the very act of not worshipping anything or anyone.

The same way fundies worship the act of worshipping God, making them all polytheists, perhaps?

"Atheism is a drug addiction. Atheists are addicted to not being addicted."

Makes more sense (seriously).

Yes. Being dead is living. Dead people live the very act of not having a pulse, not breathing, not metabolising and not reproducing.

"Somewhere in a universe far, far away..." what you just said makes sense, but in our universe it is just plain stupid.

Mister Spak

IF not worshipping is an act of worship, then is worshipping an act of atheism? Which would make wildkoala an atheist?

11/29/2007 6:07:35 AM

I'm going to make this so clear that even the brain-dead fundamentalists from RR will understand it: Atheists worship NOTHING! Any questions?

11/29/2007 6:08:53 AM

What do you care if it's a religion or not? It's all still false to you.

11/29/2007 6:11:04 AM

Is November redefine atheism month?

Satan is my life coach

And Atheism is the only true religion. Don't forget that, you stupid pagan fucktard

Doctor Whom

I have a fun new hobby. It's called not collecting stamps.

11/29/2007 6:22:30 AM

Mister Spak

Prager: That makes sense, because they claim everything came from nothing, therefore they worship nothing.

"Cap'n! It's ripped a hole in the logic-time continuum! We are bein' sucked in!"

@Doctor Whom:
I have a fun new hobby. It's called not collecting stamps.

Which means you're not an atheist, since according to wildkoala, what you would be doing would be collecting not collecting stamps.

Hope that helps,

Grey Wolf

@Doctor Whom

I have a nice sheet of Jimmy Stewart stamps I'm not giving you for your not collection of not stamps

You can redefine religion all you like, but reality is reality. And nobody worships an "act" but a divinity.

If atheism is a religion, then cold is heat.

Tiny Bulcher

I'm a Zen atheist. I don't worship gods by not worshipping anything.

We get together every Sunday and worship not worshipping,
oh wait, no,
we go for, like, a three hour hike.
(Are we "worshipping" nature, or just stepping on it?)

11/29/2007 8:47:08 AM

Caustic Gnostic

Worship not-worshipping? Is that like Not-doing?

I worship Lethe by becoming drunk and passing out.

Trouble is, to a fundie that reads like we all gather around a giant null-set symbol every Sunday and mumble nihilistic prayers to it. They are congenitally incapable of imagining not worshipping anything, it's why they're fundies.

@Doctor Whom:

I used to be really serious about not collecting stamps, but then I acquired a baby daughter and switched hobbies. Now I'm not collecting coins and banknotes.

11/29/2007 9:22:25 AM

Then there's Anatheism. That's religion that worships not worshiping the act of not worshiping anything or anyone. And Antianatheism, a religion that worships not worshiping the refusal to worship the act of not worshiping anything or anyone.

The FAIL is strong in this one.

Jezebel's Evil Sister

Fundies are so accustomed to being mentally enslaved that they cannot even comprehend that not every one feels the need to worship something. Sad, actually.
