[Atheists and Fstdt.]

(Atheists have started many of the threads in the religion forum.)

And what I find so interesting is that the majority of them are to bash religion. Finding and posting sites to show stupid quotes and what buffoons Christians are, searching the internet to find the most extreme weirdos claiming the name "Christian" to post and show "what Christians are", posting links to show how assanine a belief is, making sure to bring to light another horrible thing a Christian has done and on and on and on. And then we have this one that starts out with an insult about the "nonsense people believe". Yet, I don't see many topics started by Christians to claim they have the only way, or to show stupidity on the part of atheists, or how atheists are taking away yet another right. And yet, Christians are the "hateful, intolerant" ones. Odd.

As for this post - Christians are hatemongers and bigots. How many do you know that hate blacks? LOL. I know lots of NON Christians that do, but that doesn't fit, lol. We visit here so we can laugh at you, ha ha ha! And then a big 'ole "shame on you!" at the end for emphasis. So much for honest and intelligent discussion. Isn't it "ironical"?

We never claimed that the quotes are representative of mainstream christianity, even the name of the site refers to the more fundamental types.

\"ironical\"? Thats not a word...

I am here to laugh at fundamentalism in general, I have no idea why \"christian\" fundies are disproportionately more ridiculous on the internet than any fundies of any other faith (or no faith at all). If there was a muslim, buddhist or atheist version of Bro. Randy out there, he would be laughed at just as much.

And for the record, I am a christian with a sense of humour, not an atheist.

anti-nonsense

I have never claimed that the fundies we make fun of are the same as mainstream Christians.

Me thinks our Patriot identifies more with fundies than main stream Christians, and doesn't care for the realization.

I think it renders down to, \"Do you have a sense of humo[u]r?\"

If you can't tell a joke to make St. Peter laugh, you're goin' straight to hell.

Personally, I don't really much care what invisible sky fairies people want to believe in.

I do care what magic cloud pixies they insist I should believe it.

I do care what bearded space giants they want my daughter to believe in.

I do care that they want the last 50 generations of human intellectual progress swept under the carpet so that they might all the easier convince others that their manifestly incorrect imaginings are 'the truth'.

If you are a faith-filled Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jew, Satanist or Pastafarian, good on you and I admire you for your faith. I am an atheist and a scientist (and that is not a truism) leave my science and reason alone, and I'll go nowhere near your faith and belief.

There is a problem. The posts quote exactly what you say. Those database exist and people do say those things. The funny thing is that, when somebody in the left side or in the mainstream moderate Christianity makes a faux pas, you atribute it to the movement as a whole(the fringe of radical feminism or Catholicism and the cases of pederasty or, well, islamic terrorism also counts). However, when we just quote it, not atribute it to Christianity as a whole, you are furious because you think they´re attacking you. Wake up, man. If they were saying something logical or Christian, you wouldn´t be ashamed. Moreover, you´d think we had made you a favour. As it´s not the case, you complain. But it´s your fault. Get angry with the people who give Christianity a bad name.

As a gnostic, I have to marvel at the proud proclamations of total superstition and bigotry that come across from people who call themselves christian.... \"No True Scotsman\", I know.

Let's put it this way:

Jesus asked me to try to help one fundie pull his head out of his arse.

Well, just don't say it in internet and think before you post, why is it that difficult?, or are we now putting a gun into your head to say it?

I will never say that Christians are stupid. Just people like you.

There IS a difference between fundies and Christians, you know.
