Quote# 2209

Ops, sorry, I keep forgetting that it has not ALL been falsifed yet. But MUCH of it has already been falsified. At least according to Talkorigion.com MUCH of evolution has been falsified. But if you want to say that talkorigion.com is not telling the truth, I can accept that also. 'many of the things Darwin said have in fact been falsified. Many of his assertions of fact have been revised or denied, many of his mechanisms rejected or modified even by his strongest supporters (e.g., by Mayr, Gould, Lewontin, and Dawkins), and he would find it hard to recognise some versions of modern selection theory as his natural selection theory.'

David D.G.

It is my understanding that the vast majority of Darwin's original theory is quite alive and well -- just augmented with things we have learned since then. Nobody has claimed that Darwin had the last word on the subject, least of all Darwin himself. Venerating a single book as inerrant, without allowing any challenges or refinements to its ideas, is a feature of religion -- not science.

When you cherry-pick your quotes, it's very easy to make it look as if those who don't agree with you agree with you.

Man Called True

Ah, JohnR7, the originator of the concept that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

So if Darwin had a few things wrong, it means Evolution is disproven?

If I prove a few things in the Bible wrong, what does that mean to Creation?

And by the way, Evolution has gone quite a bit since Darwin; removing him is like taking the scaffolding off a finished house.
