(In response to someone pointing out that the U.S. isn't a theocracy.)
you want a gayocracy
This is a Democracy. AND THE LARGE MAJORITY OF HER CITIZENS DON'T WANT GAY MARRIAGE. THE MAJORITY RULES, END OF STORY. GET OVER YOURSELF.

Gidon, for failing to understand the democratic process so completely, you should not only re-enroll in American Government 101, but also include in that curriculum Headdesk 050 and Deprogramming 100.
Keep in mind the U.S. isn't a true democracy; it's a republic with(mostly for now) democratic tendantices (read "The Handmaid's Tale" to get a good idea what our future/very soon to be present holds).
Besides, wouldn't a "gayocracy" be a very happy form of governemnt?
No, the US isn't a true Democracy, more like a representative Democracy.
Most Americans aren't in favor of gay marriage but many express support for civil unions.
And don't write in all caps, it just makes you look stupid.
Uh, Gidon, it doesn't work that way. Try reading a Civics text. Get someone to help you with the big words.
Gayocracy? I vote yes, and I'm not gay. It would be refreshing to have intelligent people at the helm.
The majority rules. End of story. Unless, of course, we're talking about the 2000 Presidential election, medical marijuana, assisted suicide, local government in the District of Columbia, whether New Jersey should be able to enforce its gay-rights law against the Boy Scouts ....
Hopefully Gidon will be eating his words in the coming years. From what I've seen, the majority of people in my generation and below are very accepting of gay marriage and rights.
When that day comes, I'll post some caps-happy gloating back to Gidon.
Well, it'd improve that tired old flag of yours. I mean, let's face it, the last change it had was to add, what, two stars? Puh-leeze people! Time for an overhaul!
With that logic, I postulate the following thought experiment.
There are two groups in a country: A and B. Group A makes up 90% of the population, and Group B the remaining 10%.
The people of Group A want the people of Group B exterminated. In Gidon's idea of democracy, because most of the people in the country want to kill Group B, Group B becomes enemies of the state, and can be removed by any means necessary.
Notice how I casually avoided Godwin's Law there?
Besides, if marriage isn't gay (in the context of "happy"), the divorce rate would skyrocket. :-P
is EVERYBODY else who posts here a fag? no wonder you're so hateful and stupid!
The irony hurts...
So, then, if a "large majority" of American citizens decided "Gidon" was an asshole who should be exiled to France immediately, Gidon would pack his bags and head to Paris?
First off, minority rights are not up to the whims of the mob.
Secondly, your side keeps saying that the USA is a "Republic, not a democracy". Make your mind up.
What's that? you want theocracy?
Well how about GAYOCRACY!!!?
ruled by happiness, REAL HAPPINESS!!!
Confused?
