I hate nature. I dont mind global warming, it is too cold now, besides after global warming is global cooling. Even the most radical global warmers say that humans may barely be effecting the earth but not sure because the earth goes on diff. paths every trillion yrs. or some crap.
70 degree weather in Chicago will not kill nobody. In charlotte we been below avg. except the past week. We hit All time record los about 6 times the past 2 months. In MID SEPTEMBER, or early october{ forgot date} it was in the TEENS with VERY COLD WIND chill and cooling radiation making it feel like the single digits. Worse of all I was at a race. are car got Ice on it.
Today and yesterday it was in the 70's in Charlotte. Usually it is in the high 40's, but the AVG. is 57 degrees for december. We been on the cool side. Are cold season is from Late JAN. through FEB.
Whatever that had to do with the topic, back to it.
No i am not eco-family. I hate the enviroment. I like 85- 100 degree weather. and I am not willing to pay Way more money to drive a car that runs off sugar, ir walk to school .

"70 degree weather in Chicago will not kill nobody."
This sentence actually says it will kill somebody, but I don't expect an ignorant fundy to understand the effect of using a double negative, or other fine points of grammar and spelling (not to mention science).
Anyway, it's not the 70-degree weather in Chicago that will kill; it's the rising of the oceans and resulting inland flooding caused by ice caps melting that has sensible people (i.e., NOT BCHS) worried.
Very good, you hate nature, the very creation of God, and think that global warming is a lie. Tell it when you don´t have your regular orange or vegetables supply, because the draught and the frost have ruined the crops. I don´t know what you see against God in "global warming" but you don´t seem very convincing anyway.
Well, no wonder the climate is out of whack; instead of its proper north-south axis, the world apparently revolves around BCHS.
Man, if there's anything more annoying than an ignorant, ungrammatical rant, it's a narcissistic , ignorant, ungrammatical rant. Let the coastal cities be inundated, let half the planet's species die off -- just so this clown can get more comfortable without bothering to change anything in his life.

Big Yellow Taxi
by Joni Mitchell
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique
And a swinging hot spot
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
They took all the trees
Put 'em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Hey farmer farmer
Put away that DDT now
Give me spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please!
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Late last night
I heard the screen door slam
And a big yellow taxi
Took away my old man
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

How about, instead of supporting global flooding, widespread death and destruction, and the displacement of millions upon millions of refugees, you move to fucking California?
Did you know that this Yule/Christmas will be the first time ever me, my parents, my grandparents, etc. will experience a Yule/Christmas WITHOUT snow, and I live in Northern Sweden.
Guess why?
Yes - It's too warm for snow.
And you know, sugar is cheaper than gas.
Yes, this guy is damn stupid and doesn't realized the problems associated with global warming. It's going to move agricultural zones, the jet stream and the gulf stream, open up more land for insects and increase desert territories. This is going to cause mass extinctions - which just might include ours too.
I do have a question for the more scientific folks who frequent this board though. I have never had a decent response to this...
As a child I studied dinosaurs extensively. Admittedly the theories about dinosaurs have changed considerably since those days, but as I recall the Earth used to be really hot and really wet millions of years ago. Even Antarctica was lush and had tropical forests. It existed like that for hundreds of millions of years. Then something happened (asteroid?) and the environment changed leading to the Ice Age.
Why was the Earth so hot back in the age of dinosaurs? Why are we sure that we are causing the global warming? Has it ever been proposed that the Earth might be returning to its' natural hot, wet environment after suffering a catastrophic event?
(This is probably a dumb question - feel free to flame away.)
It's sadly very hard to convey to people the effect of 1 or 2 degrees on the global climate. People, like this idiot, sometimes think "oh, another 20 degrees won't be so bad" when huge problems have historically come from as little as two or three degrees difference.
Cerebulon: I'll address part of your question, in that I don't believe anyone seriously contends that human activity is the SOLE factor in global warming -- just that it is an EXTRA factor that is tipping the balance. Even if the warming is entirely a natural phenomenon, the last thing we should want to do is add to it!
Also, as for previous climate fluctuations, I believe they generally are supposed to have been caused by dramatic increases of dust in the atmosphere (such as that kicked up by an asteroid collision), causing cooling, and major accumulations of greenhouse gases (from outgassing as well as organic sources), causing warming. Cosmic factors, such as solar energy fluctuations, may play a part, too. I will admit that I am hazy on the details myself; I have read enough to form conclusions on the data presented at the time, but not enough to retain all the information in detail. You might try TalkOrigins.com or Wikipedia, looking for such keywords as "ice age" and "climate + dinosaurs."

"Even the most radical global warmers say that humans may barely be effecting the earth..."
I love how they always assert "Even the most radical (X) say that..." and are nearly always patently wrong. I've heard "Even the most radical anti-lifers say that babies feel pain in the uterus." Um, no, the "most radical" pro choicers most definitely DON'T say that. And the "most radical" proponents of global warming would, almost by definition, be the people who think that humans have a large effect on the world's climate.
...but not sure because the earth goes on diff. paths every trillion yrs. or some crap. Oh really? Maybe you should consider knowing something about what you're talking about before you start taking, hm? Especially when you yourself are admitting how stupid you are.
No i am not eco-family. I hate the enviroment. I like 85- 100 degree weather. and I am not willing to pay Way more money to drive a car that runs off sugar, ir walk to school ."
You'll walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways, and you'll like it young man!
@BCHS
70 degree weather in Chicago will not kill nobody.
Double negative.
The issue with global warming isn't that it will get too hot (it won't, simply put) but that the weather patterns will be drastically altered, to the extent that crops will fail because it's suddenly too wet for the corn and too dry for the cranberries. Stuff like that.
Cerebulon:
A little more to add: Yes, the earth was a lot warmer when dinosaurs ran around (and Antarctica was closer to the equator I believe). The earth goes through large scale and small scale climate changes naturally due to supercontinents forming and breaking apart, variations in the earths orbit and a few other factors that are already hazy in my memory. I really don't know much about asteroid impacts effecting the long term climate, but I do know that the earth has gone through many large scale icehouse/greenhouse cycles since the end of the dinosaurs.
I find that this sort of anti-environmentalism mentality to be quite prevalent among fundies. I have heard fundies claim Global Warming doesn't exist, that environmentalists are all a bunch of "liberal, tree-hugging, communist hippies, and that there is no point in conservation since they're going to all be raptured anyway. Blah.
Not quite. The Earth was, indeed, warmer then (somewhere in the region of 5º warmer, on average, IIRC - but may be off). Antactica wasn't lush because of that, though, but because it was far closer to the equator than these days. The most supported (by evidence) theory on the K-T extinction boundary (the one that killed the dinosaurs) does posit a mid-size meteor impact that set off a chain vulcanism, both of which combined for a significant opacity of the atmosphere world-wide due to all the ash thrown into the air. Big plants and animals had a hard time surviving in the dark world, which most likely led to the extinction of large number of species. I do not know that it triggered an ice age, though.
Why was the Earth so hot back in the age of dinosaurs? Why are we sure that we are causing the global warming? Has it ever been proposed that the Earth might be returning to its' natural hot, wet environment after suffering a catastrophic event?
The Earth's natural state is not that of hot Earth, but a cold one. In fact, IIRC, there are three stages that, from our perspective, can be called "Hot", "Cold" and "Very Cold" and Earth, depending on inclination, rotation and several other astronomical properties, goes from one to the next.
(This is probably a dumb question - feel free to flame away.)
"There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers" - so I hope I am not making a fool of myself here.
The problem with global warming is not that it is an unnatural state, but that heating the Earth as fast as we are doing it will lead to mass extinctions (evolution can only work so quickly), and given that we are currently living in the very brink because of our need to huge amount of resources, the drastic changes of a quick-onset of global warming might make Earth uncapable to bear human life.
If it helps, though, *life* will survive global warming. Even if we manage to destroy 90% of life, rats and sparrows and beetles will most likely survive and evolve into a new batch of species.
Hope that helps,
Grey Wolf
Well, I'm glad you're comfortable. Guess you don't care about melting polar ice caps, endangered species in the Arctic, n' stuff like that? You do understand that when our GOD put together this world, he laced everything together in a tight, but delicate system. When even one species suffer, they all do.
But I guess you don't care, as long as your car isn't frozen.
why does it seem like fundies have such bad fucking grammar? "will not kill nobody" "Are cold season" etc. it makes my head spin. then again, maybe their bible was written like this.
anyway, i don't understand why fundies would be against the environment. shouldn't they be trying to protect the earth that God created for them?
Fuck global warming.
There is pollution anyway, and we should fix that whether or not there is global warming.
And especially fuck ethanol. It's just undermining the development of electric cars and hindering technology.
"besides after global warming is global cooling"
That's why Venus is an ice planet. Oh, wait, it's not. And all the evidence doesn't show it becoming one anytime soon.
Fucking idiot. Maybe if you drove to school you'd get there in time to learn something.
"Worse of all I was at a race. are car got Ice on it."
"Worse of all"? "are car"?
Lemme guess, NASCAR? YEE-HAW!
...and wen I get all growded up, i'm still gonna hate are englich teechur, an all that there grammer, and stuf. I hate ice on are car.
Confused?
