Ummmmm, I believe it is the males who have been the (oppressed) minority group for at least the past 100 years.

Women outnumber men, and therefore it is women who have effective control over our government, our laws, our courts, our leaders, etc.

Secondly, for the past 100 years, it is women who have the most control in raising our children, and therefore it is women who instill the values and in controllng our society and its customs and beliefs.

Little boys and little girls are taught to be who they are, taught to think like they do ----by women.

As far as shaving, makeup, plastic surgery, wearing high heels or sneakers, skirts, pants, dresses, etc, it is women who have the choice to to do so or not, men are prohibited by society's rules( put into place by women) from doing such things.

Hahaha...ahaha...ah... Oh man. As someone with scars on the back of my feet from all the crappy high-heeled shoes designed by gay men I've had to wear to various social functions through out my life, let me just get out my tiny violin for the poor, oppressed men who are forced to live their lives without ever feeling the pressure to wear heels. You know what else is funny? In America, it's actually legal for an employer to fire a woman for not wearing make-up. Oh, but you're the ones with all the restrictions on what you can wear - I forgot. Men are the sex-class. XDDDD

The only jobs a man is prohibited from having are female prostitute (and they can have that one, too, with a bit of major surgery) or biological birth-mother. Everything else is pretty much wide open.
Women are in control of our government? OK, I suppose that's why we've never had a woman president or even a truly significant number of women in congress. I'm looking around for the marching band and the streamers because this is the one-millionth ceremonial time I've had to shake off something this stupid! (With apologies to Dr. Cox.)

Ummmmmmmm starting your post with "um"'s does not a good post make. Also, the number of women in the world is irrelevent to who holds control of our government. AS to the "women instill their (cough evil) morals in the children", you realize how many children don't listen to their mothers? And those who do actually know that mother knows best.
Yeah, women can shave, put on makeup, etc... but men can do them also. They'll just be called fags or drag queens by other males and females. Men DON'T have extreme limitations to jobs, because (I'd say that) they have the wider job range, truly because they can take just about any job- they just have to risk the name calling and dangerous assumptions by homophobes. Same can go for women, and because women worry more about how others view them, they are less likely to take certain jobs, wear certain clothes, etc. And just to clarify- I need citations for your "facts".

Prior to this, their only effective weapon of "control" was nagging; and since men could usually beat their wives with impunity if they wished, this was seldom all that useful a tactic. Until the 1950s or thereabouts, most U.S. families were HEAVILY dominated by the husband/father; if the "little woman" didn't toe the line and see that the kids did the same, the results often could be severely unpleasant. It was the aftermath of World War II when things started to change, after finally giving large numbers of women a taste of real self-actualization during the war. The degree of male domination has tapered off very slowly to where it now can be close to call, in my opinion; certainly women still do not dominate generally, but I'm sure the power level is often a lot closer to equal than it used to be. But even if power is shared 50-50, I'll bet you that the man is listed as "head of household" on the tax forms of 90% of families. Seriously, what profession is denied to men that is not denied to women? I know of none. Conversely, women have enormous difficulty getting into many professions as well as getting certain kinds of jobs within those professions (and equal treatment within them). How many front-line-capable women do we have in the military, and how many men? How many women senators have we had -- or presidents? The fashion comment is more or less true, in the broad sense; however, women still face higher expectations of fashion and appearance in most work environments where this is applicable, and their hairstyling and dry-cleaning bills are at least double what men's tend to be. Statistically, this is more often true than not, but not by a huge margin; and when you say "control" of wealth, you DO realize that you're talking about household budgets, right? Certainly not government or corporate budgets! Women are shamefully UNDERrepresented in government positions, executive and managerial positions, and most professions; teaching and nursing are about the only ones in which they might have numbers in their favor. And they typically earn at least 10% less than men do at the same jobs. So if they eventually inherit a little extra something, I'd say they've more than earned the tip. ~David D.G.

Then explain why 90% (as a rough estimate; my guess is it's actually quite a bit higher) of elected posts in the government are filled by men.

Or, here's a thought - maybe BOTH PARENTS partake in the process of raising a child! That's how it was for me.

Actually, I'm sorry to say, 100 years ago, men outnumber women 2 to 1 due to the deaths from childbirth. Because of significant medical advances, babies can be born at a larger size range (1-12lbs) without threatening the mother as opposed to the smaller size range (5-9lbs) of the 1800s and 1900s. And men are the ones who have made the laws in society and the male desire for sex is what drives women to dress and act in certain ways in order to appear attractive. It's sort of a reversal from common animal mating rituals where the male is the one flaunting.

If men are so oppress I think it's time for them to step it up instead of sitting in silence.

We have an old picture of my grandfather when he was about three years old in 1913. He has long blond curly hair and wears a white dress-like garment. My point is that around that time, little boys and girls were treated fairly similarly, when they were small, by women. When they were a bit older, men brought the boys with them out in the fields and women kept the girls indoor. Child labor was the norm then; as soon as you were old enough to walk properly, you started feeding chicken and collecting eggs.

Men can have almost all jobs that women can, and vice versa. Men can dress however they want, and so can women. You might get laughed at by some and despised by others, but people who know you will respect you anyway.

So, it's Melinda Gates, Astrid Menks, Melany Craft and the Koch Sisters who are the five richest in America? Or is it Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Larry Ellison and the Koch Brothers? Funnily enough, the first woman on the Forbes 400 is in eighth* place. As a matter of fact, she's the only woman in the first fifteen places. Sure, women control 60 % of your nation's wealth! Or did you mean 6 %?

The life-expectancy difference is diminishing, as medical science is curing a lot of diseases that afflict males and reducing the effect of others, while women now have the same stressful jobs that made men live shorter lives in the past. In most countries, the difference is only two to four years. What can you achieve with your inheritance that you got from your husband when he died at age 81, and you yourself are 83?

Edit. Sorry, missed a woman in sixth place. I read it as Christian, but it was Christy. So, women control 12 percent, then (of the places in the rating).
