Quote# 143234

It's amazing. I don't like to get on the subject of evolution with atheists because they just freak out. They're like,

"Oh my, I can't believe you don't believe in evolution!"

Why would I? It's stupid! You have to actually defy science.

"Oh, it's scientific."

Well, what about this?

"Oh, I never thought of that. Oh, it never really even crossed my mind."

Because we live in a school where it's just fill-in-the-blank. Fill in the blank. Fill in the blank. They're not taught to logic. They're not taught to reason. I thank God that I was in a home where I at least got taught how to logic, you know.

And you know what all these atheists have in common? You know, all, they've been attacking us online. They put out a little two hour documentary trying to expose the one pastor and I put out, Brother Brandon, put out a two hour documentary. You know what all these atheists have in common? Video games! They all play video games! And Harry Potter! You get on their channel, they're in fantasyland! That's all they ever do! They can't think for themselves. They sit back and they drink Coke all day and sit behind a video game system and then wonder why, "Oh, you're crazy, Brother Powell for believing in a creator. Oh, you're insane."

No, you're crazy! And you need to get off the video game system, and somebody needs to preach to them the gospel of Jesus Christ and so then they can be saved! That's what we need! And I am sick and tired of these stinking video games messing with people!

...Hey, Matt? The 90s called. They want their anti-video game and anti-Harry Potter fads back. Also, you'd be surprised how many educational games there are for young children. And how much even regular games can be interesting.

Still, if you want to lock yourself inside your imaginary world, fine. But then don't be a hypocrite and complain that we do the same.

Besides, our imaginary worlds are much more varied and bigger and fun than yours anyway!

The Church of England would like a word with you, Matty-boy.

Moral: Reconciling one's faith with proven scientific fact. It's a thing.

--EDIT--

@Swede

What video games? Pong? Donkey Kong? Spider Solitaire?
Going on a "Pokenad" is messing with people? It's something that whole families did (perhaps still do?) together, both the young and the old. Where's your family spirit, Mattie-boy?

There are two major "Pokémon Go" gyms in London: one is in the vicinity of the MI6 Building.

The other is not only in the vicinity: but also in Westminster Abbey: where Darwin is buried & memorialised.

It's as if Nintendo UK purposely decided to use the fact that fundies complain about evolution of Pokémon to further rub their noses into it.

And when a church here in Britain encourage "Pokémon Go" players to come in to theirs, quite the paradox this represents for the likex of the OP.

Yup, and we also freak out like "Oh my, I can't believe you don't believe in a spherical Earth!".

You live in a school? I live in an ordinary dwelling house.

Science teaches you to do logic and reason. God; not so much...
Too bad you were not taught how to thought[sic], in your home.

I play video games? When? Am I sleep-playing?
We play Harry Potter? How?
Their channel? Not all atheists are on the same channel, or in the same country, or even speaking the same language, dolt.
Some are communists, some are libertarians, most are neither.
I drink Coke? Am I sleep-drinking too? Where do I get the Coke from? Do I steal from the neighbors? We have no Coke in our home.

That's one thing you got right. Mattie; you're crazy, insane. Which creator, btw? There are so many; Zeus, Brahma, Wotan? What about a Maori creator god or a Native American one? That ancient war/moon god, now called God/Allah/YHWH (GAY for short), probably wasn't a creator god before he got delusions of grandeur and formed his own religion, carefully telling people to have no other gods before him...

I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ in school, in the 70's and 80's. I was even taught to know most of the Gospel of Luke by heart (still useful to me when I can't fall asleep; reciting it to myself gets me instantly sleepy). Does that mean that I can be saved?

(Pokenad is taking a walk ("promenad" in Swedish) while looking for items in Pokemon Go. Squishing the words "Pokemon" and "promenad" together gives "Poke-nad".)

Matty here made a movie and uses the fake Icca stones to prove that dinosaurs walked with man. He also took several people he talked to out of context to fit his own narrative. Here's a You Tube video where someone is criticizing Matt's video...part 4.

I would say he's creating an easy to defeat straw man but that's an insult to men made of straw.

@Thinking Allowed

Whose scenes with godless engineer were really bad. GE was not talking about the Icca stones and the editing team place one above him to make his claim sound ridiculous. An obviously fake tourist Icca stone at that as the difference between the real ancient ones and the newer ones made for tourists is quite known.

I hate auto correct.

I have thought about it. I can't believe you don't believe in evolution, because (1) we know it happened in the past, (2) we can see it happening in the present, and (3) we know how it works. Any junior high school student should be able to understand all these things.

Actually, yes, I can believe that Matt doesn't believe, because it's Matt, and he doesn't have enough brains with which to go insane.

What about what?

You got taught how to logic? The mind weeps.

@ creativerealms

Matt is counting on his audience not to know that though.

ok ya dumbass....atheism and evolution are not the same thing!

How is not believing in evolution scientific?

Ok, asshole, I'll bite, please tell me how your superior home-schooled "logic" can disprove a process that a) CAN be observed to happen, b) is the definite logical result of mutations and recombination being a thing, c) without which nothing in biology makes sense at all (a sentence uttered by a theologist by the way)?

I'm christian (agnostic mind you but still) and I'm an evolutionary biologist and I see no problem with that at all. Home-schooling has exactly one giant weakness: It generates a bubble around the pupil in which they'll never get into contact with any opinion that isn't shared by their home teachers (i.e. their parents). Case in point: You.

And also for the last time: The christian god is not "explained away" by evolution, nor is he the only possibility left if evolution would be proven false. There are literally hundreds of creation myths and only your ignorant self-important mind would believe that Christianity is "all there is then". I'd suggest going back to study a bit more.

This guys been making dishonest vids for years, a regular stunt is to do his lectures from a pulpit in a church with NO AUDIENCE.

He also holds Kent Hovind up as his "scientific expert".

Absolutely useless human being.

I was raised in Poland and a bit early for HP books, I'm afraid. I grew up with the Witcher saga and the good old d&d and warh novels, a boy's equivalent of a harlequin book. I do drink cola, I happen to quite like the flavour, I also drink lots of whiskey and smoke loads of pot both WHILE playing video games. I've other interests and hobbies of course but since you've decided to harp on this particular thing, yes, you're fucking insane, both to hold on to your sacred little book above workable, explainable(and not even hard to, really) science and to treat adults who happen to diverge from what you personally find acceptable, as some basement dwelling kiddos. Trust me, dipshit, I had to reset and start my life almost from scratch, on a different continent no less, defend my presence and that of my husband and re-establish ourselves here, and by our combined efforts and our teamwork, we accomplished all that. You do not get to tell me to "get off the video game system", buddy. First you get the fuck out of your church and get back to us on planet reality, because frankly, I refuse to be lectured by an ignorant cretin in a black robe.

4/14/2019 1:29:36 PM

Evolution has nothing to do with atheism. Nothing. And neither of them have anything to do with video games. This whole screed is a long string of non-sequiturs pretending to be a sermon.

4/14/2019 6:46:06 PM

I love to get on the subject of creation because it exposes their dumbassery.

"Oh my, I can't believe you don't believe in creation!"

Why would I? It's stupid! You have to actually defy science.

"Oh, it's scientific."

Well, what about this?

"I never heard of that! But I still believe in creation."

"Why?"

"Because it's true."

" I thank God that I was in a home where I at least got taught how to logic, you know. "

Your teachers taught you to do it wrong.

Obvious WTF is obvious, but he unfortunately has a point on the side subject of shitty schools.

4/15/2019 7:34:42 AM

@Glandu

That school sounds like it's still doing the GWB education plan. It's probably a fundie district where fundie parents elected a fundie school board resulting in shitty school.
