Quote# 141147

The same Gospel of believing on the Lord was preached in the Old Testament. Hebrews 4:1-3 plainly teaches that Moses preached the Good News of faith in Christ to be saved.

Moses was an Old Testament Hebrew. He would have no "Good News" from a man that wouldn't be born for several thousand years. If he was informed that some asshole was walking around, claiming to be his God's son and saying that salvation was only possible through worshipping him alone, he would stone said asshole in the most painful manner possible because Moses had just received a certain Commandment forbidding exactly that sort of thing.

Oh, and the book you cited was one of Paul's letters, Paul the self-admitted liar and false prophet, You have no leg to stand on. Should have tried reading the actual account of Moses located in the actual Old Testement, not some con-artist's interpretation of them.

Ooh, sorry, you didn't get the New Testament version, you know, the one that makes you a Christian. "Go thou and sin no more", Davey, and don't give us that sanctimonious bunk about being saved by some magical words so you are free to keep on sinning.

@Denizen

Actually, Hebrews authorship is unknown and has been in doubt since the 4th century

Question: Did King James I exist before Moses...?!

It's okay, o Professor of Theology Davey-boy: we can wait.

How? How is that possible when Jesus the Christ came after Moses?

Churchy LaFemme

Sure, Moses preached about Jesus, in the same manner that Jesus was able to preach against women wearing pants and Taylor Swift.

So Dave, care to show me where in the Old Testament that says Moses was teaching about Christianity before Christianity was...well...Christianity?

Is DJS by any chance one of those who think Obama was president during 9/11?

Moses... preached about having faith in Jesus, who wouldn't be born for a couple thousand years?

And Hebrews 4:1-3 doesn't say anything about Moses.

Jesus wasn't born in old testament.

Oh, I did know that Moses had a magic rod, but I didn't know he had a crystal ball. What a man he was!

Say what? Moses might have preached about a coming Messiah, but not the actual Christ, as he would be born many generations later. And, according to Judaism, the Messiah hasn't arrived yet. Any Good News, that Moses might have preached about Messiah, is thereby still in future tense...

That verse sounds like you were suppose to have faith in God, not Jesus specifically. The "Word" and Trinity thing came in the New Testament.
