Like the 8 studies done in 3 different nations proving homosexuality is not genetic, thus not born that way.
In the identical twin studies, Dr. Whitehead has been struck by how fluid and changeable sexual identity can be.
“Neutral academic surveys show there is substantial change. About half of the homosexual/bisexual population (in a non-therapeutic environment) moves towards heterosexuality over a lifetime. About 3% of the present heterosexual population once firmly believed themselves to be homosexual or bisexual.”
“Sexual orientation is not set in concrete,” he notes.
Even more remarkable, most of the changes occur without counseling or therapy. “These changes are not therapeutically induced, but happen ‘naturally’ in life, some very quickly,” Dr. Whitehead observes. “Most changes in sexual orientation are towards exclusive heterosexuality.” Numbers of people who have changed towards exclusive heterosexuality are greater than current numbers of bisexuals and homosexuals combined. In other words, ex-gays outnumber actual gays.

I can believe that about 3% of the present heterosexual population once firmly believed themselves to be homosexual or bisexual. I'm actually surprised it isn't more.
Still, one person's situation can be way different from another's, so sexuality is more fluid in some people and less in others. Gays have ruined their lives attempting to be straight, and sometimes the life of the person they married as well. Besides, Terry Bean is misrepresenting the findings of this doctor to support his own agenda. Once you've said that all homosexuals and bisexuals number less than 3% of the population, you can't be trusted. (Obviously, no-one knows how many bisexuals there are but if you include everyone with the slightest tendency towards their own sex, it could even be a majority!)
Care to show any of this research you`re bringing up?
Also don`t bother if your only conclusion is gonna be "most people are in fact bi to a certain extent and sexual attraction can be fluid in some folks" we know that already and it does nothing for whatever tired old fallacy you`ll be bringing in to capitalise on this stuff.
Ok, so how does this study "prove" that homosexuality isn't genetic (implying that it is a choice)? Because sexuality being fluid doesn't mean much in this regard. My hair color was once purely blond, nowadays it's relatively dark, having changed over the years without me doing anything about it. Does that mean I choose my hair color? Of course not! It is still a result of genetics and presumably environmental influences, just like sexuality is. So your point is pretty mood.
Also: Being "ex-gay" because your sexuality readjusted itself on its own and being that because of conversion therapy are two very different things. How you may ask? Because the second thing never happened.

I bet he has. [/Freud]
Xtian pro reparative therapy groups constantly say this crap, but I have had a number of gay friends, aquaintences and coworkers, and an uncle, who have never shown this to be true. B.T.W. you didn't give any information about these studies or by whom done, nor even the nations in which they were supposedly undertaken. Methinks I detect the odour of male bovine excrement. (that's bullshit, ya'll!)
Wanna bet these three nations are either crappy backwards ones or exist only in the OP's rectal cavity?
Here's the thing....IF IT HURTS NO ONE, WHY IS THAT AN ISSUE?!
Let people be "Different"....as long as it hurts no one!
@SpukiKitty
Yeah, sadly the mere act of being different hurts these scum it seems... They need feel a part of a perfectly uniform herd and apparently anyone deviating from their ideal is perceived as an immidiate threat, now why would that be? Honestly I believe it to be so because these individuals are averse to any kind of freedom(freedom is chaos after all and they only value comfort and order, the cost being irrelevant since it really doesn`t matter to them), it confuses and angers them since they don`t really know how to live with it and would much rather obey some arbitrary commands than think for themselves. These same people tend to also be rabidly tribalistic, sometimes even proud of it and as such, they might be able to easily cut off empathy to anyone they don`t perceive as the same as them/member of the tribe. The very act of difference is perceived as wrong and either to be forcefully corrected or purged outright.
@SpukiKitty , Skide
Yeah, that's the thing with these people. I see it all the time from people on Christian News Network, that's apparently one the biggest indictments they put on homosexuality: "It's not NORMAL!!" And my thought is always "So friggen what?" Like, is being "NORMAL" some kind of great thing to aspire to?
There's no surprise that sexual orientation can be fluid. What the twin studies actually show is a genetic predilection with a penetrance of around 25%. We're now learning that genes can be turned on and off, sort of like a dimmer switch, through the epigenome and can change throughout a person's lifetime due to environmental and lifestyle influences.
But none of this changes the simple fact that sexual preference is not a choice.
Confused?
