But, since God created everything, he must have wanted men to be murderers, liars, thieves, adulterers and idolaters. If the only thing preventing disaster is God's restraining force, then all of creation is just a means for God to demonstrate to himself just how much he can screw around with everybody's life. A rational parent's goal is to raise children who can function independently; it's too bad the Creator wasn't as rational.

I disagee. I think Amos probably doesn't really wantbto be all MADMAX THUNDERDOME, he just likes to think of himself as a total rotter, made slightly superior by the grace of his favorite skybeast.
He does see signs of his violent potential, here and there. He glances at the cleavage of the checkout girl at the grocer's, and says 'I was THAT close to raping an innocent.'
Oh, yeah, just look at the smoking wasteland that used to be Sweden. Oh, wait, Sweden is still there? And is one of the nicest places? Huh, how about that.
