Finally; We're talking about an ancient time period where everyone "grew up" fast. The concept of childhood and teenagers as we know it today didn't exist. "Childhood" ended early and Post-Pubescent teens were considered fully adult.
Today; We live longer and we need to take a much longer time to learn things. We now understand what adolescence is and that it's not "Adulthood". We understand that the human body reaches literal adulthood at 18 and that mental/neurological adulthood a few years longer.
Since the above is the case; Muhammad's likely married Aisha when she was in her late teens. She was likely 19 and not 9 and the Islamic Prophet preferred older women to begin with. Aisha was an outlier and the guy who composed that ONE Hadith was a senile pervert. That Hadith isn't even considered legit by a good chunk of Islamic scholars.
The Quran & The Bible are roughly in the same league and follow the same Deity, so I imaging the attitudes about marrying age were similar.
If a child was married, it was usually to another child and they wouldn't be allowed to live out that marriage until they were older, anyway.
