Shooting at unarmed people that can't shoot back & frequently can't escape = coward. I certainly won't dispute the crazy or vile aspect, but shooting noncombatants is an act of pure cowardice. It makes one yellower than a ripe banana dunked in Velveeta cheese under the summer sun.

Something to consider is that such shooters probably expect that they'll end up facing police or special forces, which most certainly can and will shoot back - and likely kill or seriously wound said shooter. So, the shooter expects to end up dealing with armed opposition and death. Doesn't seem all that cowardly to me.

At which point the majority immediately either turn the gun on themselves or in the case of Anders "I am being unfairly tortured by this PS2" Breivik surrender fully expecting good treatment under the delusion they'll be vindicated in the public's eye and released back to freedom, if not made a hero. A good chunk of the remainder only resist arrest because they didn't have the resolve to go with the first option and hoped the cops would take care of that for them and make them sound more impressive in the process.

If they wanted a fight, they'd have started with people who can fight instead of counting down the minutes before the cops arrive after firing the first bullet into somebody who never even knew they were there. They are absolutely cowards. You might as well argue the bravery of a high-schooler that beats up kindergarteners because the faculty or parents will eventually run out after him.

You have no idea what Breivik wanted. Had he just fought with the people who could strike back (cops/army) he'd be almost immediately outgunned/killed and by now practically forgotten. That is not bravery but insanity. It would make no point.

As explained above. One Vox Day's commentator made a good point too - that it would be easier to see why Breivik's act was good if we imagined those killed to be in a military camp.

In any case, passerby is once again rambling nonsense. It takes tremendous courage to do what Breivik did, as he was well aware that he will spend decades of jail and that his idea of Norway won't be victorious the day after. It takes tremendous courage to know you will be spending 23 hours of your life in a cell and still go ahead and do what he did. Courage isn't fighting cops/military who are in any case just following orders and aren't those who create the poisonous ideologies. These kids were actually way more dangerous than cops/military and their deaths sent a much clearer political message. Cops and military are just dumb animals who listen whoever is in charge but it is leftists who create the monstrous ideologies like feminism and liberalism.

Where Breivik is wrong is that he doesn't realize he should accept Islam.

The point isn't being willing to fight - although it is pretty notable mass shooters aren't looking for any resistance - it's being willing to face and live with both judgement and consequences for their actions. Most shooters intend to die so they won't face something harder to live with. The ones that don't are almost universally under the impression they won't face any significant consequences or will instead be rewarded. For all his bullshit martyr speeches Breivik acts genuinely surprised to be even slightly inconvenienced as a prisoner complaining about being handcuffed for transport, monitored, having to listen to general announcements, complains about isolation despite turning volunteering visitors away and having staff on hand such as counselors and priests, or even his idle entertainment being limited. He languishes in relative luxury, faces no threats of harm, experiences no intentional discomfort, and has regular human contact but complains regardless because it isn't all on his own terms and calls that torture.

But I suppose it's completely in character for you to agree, having double-standards so blatant and a grasp of human nature so warped you expect the entire world to prop you up like a living god that will never face a single word of criticism and may commit murder in a fit of pique while all others live as animals that are never to think of their own human needs and willingly suffer to constantly reward you for remembering to breathe.
