One of the major telecom companies in my country has this kiosk at the local hypermarket where they have Chad's and Stacies trying to sell phone, internet and entertainment subscriptions.

My mom got roped in by one of the Chad's who tried to upgrade her internet and slap on some entertainment package BS, but she had him call me to discuss technical details. My mom is 74 so she doesn't understand any technical stuff.

Anyway he calls me and explains the details, seems OK but my mom has a DSL modem, I was pretty sure this new internet subscription was cable because it's 100Mbit. He assures me it will work with the DSL modem. I tell my mom to hold off on buying until I verify it.

She calls me back and says that she ordered it anyway. Turns out I was right, it's a cable connection. Now she has to buy a new cable modem for 100 bucks or something. Moral of the story: I love my mom but women are fucking dumb, they cannot resist the Chad.
