Lady Checkmate's headline: "Victory! Court rules cheerleaders can paint Bible verse banners"

Cheerleaders will be able to once again raise banners proclaiming God’s Word at football games in Kountze, Texas.

The Court of Appeals for the Ninth District Court of Texas ruled late Thursday in favor of the Kountze cheerleaders – declaring the inspirational Bible verses painted on run-through banners are private speech.

“We find the Cheerleaders’ speech on the pregame run-through banners cannot be characterized as government speech,” the court ruled.

In 2012 the school district had banned cheerleaders from writing Bible verses on run-through banners for the football team. That decision came after the notorious Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a complaint.

I reckon that - unlike your pissant little s(h)ite - and even the 'banners' of said cheerleaders - his EEVBlog channel on YT has far more viewers. Also, how that 'decision' can be challenged at the Federal court level, never mind the SCOTUS; a certain 'Establisment Clause' and all that jazz.

What Dave says - certainly about retards like you - is private speech. Yours, and of said cheerleaders? 'It's a bit crusty!' and 'A bit "How Ya Doin'"' as he would say. And like I say: there's a hell of a lot of subscribers to his YT channel: yours truly included. How much traffic does your s(h)ite get...?!

Lady, let me lay it down for you.

If somebody from a private institution wants to (and its not flagrantly offensive enough to warrant being classed as hate speech), they can put up a religious sign.

If somebody in a public institution wants to (and its not flagrantly offensive enough to warrant being classed as hate speech), they can put up a religious sign that does not make an effort to evangelize or impose that religion on the public. For example, a Bible quote about perseverance for a motivational poster is okay, but a poster claiming that those who do not devote themselves to Jesus are going to burn in hell forever is not.

If somebody wants to impose religion-promoting signs on public institutions that may or may not want them, then that is wrong and needs to be legally challenged to strengthen the power of the separation of church and state.

If somebody in a private institution does not want to, they are not compelled to put up a religious sign.

As for why a bunch of cheerleaders would want bible verses, there might be some that are special to the team for some reason (whether it being a favorite of one of the coaches, or something the local Church quotes a lot, or that does relate to the game and/or team in some way). Or they do it for the same reason anime does it-- they think it looks cool.
