Fundie explains philosophical basis for "transgenderism"
Beyond the hubris, the case is one of classic philosophical illogic. The “first principle” that the transgenderist needs simply is not there, for a woman is not and cannot be a man. So in order to prove the faulty first principle, the transgenderist tries to “create” it, to make it appear to be true. The gender ideologue removes all evidence that conflicts with the transgender principle, surgically mutilating her body and pumping it full of testosterone—for her body, being a woman’s body, is not producing “enough” of that hormone naturally. Even then, the principle’s falsity remains all too evident, so the transgenderist must force others to agree that a woman is a man. For gender ideology, the truth is a great obstacle that must be attacked and destroyed.

Sex is not just a thought process. Gender isn't a philosophical discussion. Debate as you will, but sooner or later it comes right down to real people, real hormones, real problems to be solved. At that point the doctors are in charge, not the philosophers.
"Transgenderism" isn't some philosophy invented in 1930 (or whenever) which some liberal extremist made up to mess with people, which spawned adherents who try to force people to believe in it because it doesn't conform to reality or logic. Rather, it's medical science very reluctantly - so reluctantly that it took several decades - coming to terms with a reality that is very difficult for most people to understand or believe in under the black-and-white concepts of gender and sexuality which most of them were raised with.
Their own opinions come from philosophical vaporware so they can't conceive their opponents opinions come from different source. In fact they think actual observable reality is a consequence of their vaporware.
@Zinnia :
" very difficult for most people to understand or believe in under the black-and-white concepts of gender and sexuality which most of them were raised with. "
These people have a PhD in those concepts. It's not that they were raised with it, they spent 7 years learning it as adults then had to defend it before a committee.
@Mister SPak: I wasn't referring to people like Gerard T. Mundy in that statement, but the general population prior to 1990 or thereabouts. But yeah, the people openly hating on them today are generally ones with a PhD in that department.
@Zinnia
Not sure what you're trying to say.
This OP is from a PhD fundie website that has the same opinion as the fundie rubes, but has
complicated PhD justification of their fundieness instead of "I hate fags because Jesus".
The OP may have been raised with gender binary ideas, but unlike most fundies, they learned
advanced dark ages philosophizing in support of those ideas.
There were plenty of people before 1990 who understood the difference between different kinds of sexual deviants, there are also lots of people now who mush them all into one category. I don't understand where 1990 comes from.
Your original comment objected to the OPs characterization of the source of the trans movement, but fundie rubes would never do that characterization, they would just say "I hate fags because Jesus".
It is the philosopher PhD OP who invented a straw philosophy of transgender to destroy.
The "first principle" is that a transgender man is male, but everyone around him says he's a woman, because he has a vagina. He tries to go along with the notion of being a woman, tries to "create" a womanish person, mentally mutilating himself and disregarding all maleishness of his being. Even then, the first principle remains all too evident, and the transgender man is getting more and more depressed and mentally unwell. For the gender ideology, the truth is a great thing, once all false womanish obstacles have been attacked and destroyed, and the transgender man can live out all his manliness to its full extent.
NEXT UP: "The Philosophy of Freckles" Followed by "The Philosophy of Physical Height".
