The government is the one that built those roads people are using, the one that pays for the doctors in the hospitals, the one that put regulations in place so that scammers do not sell you too much crap that will kill you, among many other examples. What is so difficult about that?
Sure, it means you have to think ahead just a little bit and not blow your money beforehand, but yes, taxes serve a purpose.
What does that even mean?
I can think of two different methods that a government could "earn your money" but one of them would cause the system to collapse due to an unresolvable paradox and the other would have a severe "free rider" problem.
Funny, it's people who protest taxes that most object to government programs that require the government to actually get off their ass and do something to justify those taxes. Like single-payer healthcare, for example.
The government DOES earn your money, by providing roads, railways, welfare, public transport, education, healthcare, geriatric care, law enforcement, environment protections, parks, libraries, etc. At least the government in my country does, and in most of the other countries in Europe. The current government in the US seems to want to turn the US into Mali or Chad, or something.
Besides, didn't United Airlines' stock increase significantly shortly after the incident? Customer outrage doesn't seem to care to the stock-holders.
What physical violence has the IRS used, on people who were just minding their own business? If you're trying to evade taxes, expect repercussion. The taxes you don't pay, someone else has to pay. It's not SMRT not to pay your taxes, it's stupid and evil.
The government pays for the roads, our police force and fire department, our libraries and parks, postal service and dmvs, medicare and social security and that army you love so much. I think they've earned our money.
Let's see, I like my roads to drive on, a guy with a hose to show up if my house is on fire, and clear skies at night so I can see the stars.
I don't know what you're whining Anonymous, but I'm Ok with paying for stuff. What I'm not Ok with is me paying too much taxes so some rich guy get monies from my taxes.
Heathrow & Gatwick. British Airways.
I bet a lot of Americans wish that our national airline was state owned.
They'd like to drag BA's Spanish CEO out of his office and shoot him. Fortunately, the Steyr AUG-wielding British Transport Police at said airports are there.
Also, metal detectors.
Just ask your Retard-in-Chief to get his bum-chum in Moscow to ensure Theresa May doesn't win on 8th June. Future problems solved.
The British taxpayers will love you for it. As we will, in increased tourist spending in your country. Increased revenues = more funding for the fire departments & police forces in the US.
Win-win, really.
Confused?
