I'm not what would be commonly considered really good looking, yet I still have a stable relationship with a loving girlfriend.
Could it be because I went outside and socialised, went to parties and pubs instead of seething on the internet?

Look, just repeating what you have been told back at us doesn't make it so.
A lot of people come by to look at the people who post on that subreddit because of the "train wreck" effect. Some of the most oblivious get posted here because of what they write.
If you all would be more honestly introspective to yourselves, and learn coping and resiliency skills to navigate through life, you would be on our side looking in at that subreddit and not from the inside lashing out.
I know a girl somewhere around Australia who I talk to and play games with, who's taken an interest in me (enough to the point that more than once when she's talked about moving Stateside, she's considered moving to my state to be close to me), presumably because I don't spend all day whining that she owes me sex whenever I want, masturbating furiously over every ill that befalls her or her friends and family because I've deemed her part of the "conspiracy" to deny me such, or referring to her by the most vile and disgusting things I can think of while claiming I'm infinitely better than her and don't need her anyway but nevertheless still demanding she (and every other woman in the world) drop everything and do whatever I tell her whenever I tell her.

You know, I consider myself moderately attractive, yet I've gone through lonely periods, too. Not because I looked like Quasimodo but because I just wasn't getting out and meeting women. Of course my personality was never anywhere near as ugly as these incels' are. Which is probably why I did manage to get a few girlfriends and eventually turn one of them into a wife.
