Aces aren't LGB, if the qualifier is 'either in or likely to be in a same-sex sexual relationship', which I know -some- people do contest that it is... (but that also excludes trans persons.) I promote the use of queer instead. I don't want the discussion about problems between our society and people who don't fit into its narrow definition of 'normal' and 'acceptable' to be restricted to who I do or do not have sex with.
I prefer 'LGBT+', if only due to the negative connotations 'queer' has in my country.
As for the quote? Honestly do not understand what anyone gets out of Tumblr these days. Seems to just be a place for people to go to upset themselves.
Just four months from now, as part of our year as City of Culture: LGBT 50.
A week of Hull being Fabulous .
Does that trigger you?!
@Quasirodent
I always thought LGBTQ+ includes all sexual and gender identities not considered "the norm" in our society.
I hate it when people belonging to discriminated minorities start to discriminate against other minorities (for example extreme radfem lesbians considering transwoman as "patriarchal spies" etc.). It just feels wrong.
Or in return threatening them with violence. That's absolutely wrong as well.
Slightly off topic: At this point, there seems to be three different definitions of the word "triggered". There's the original psychological usage, the dismissive conservative version, and the liberal mockery of the dismissive conservative version. You can generally tell which definition is being used if you understand all three, but otherwise it's becoming near useless for communication purposes.

Sure, it should. But for a lot of people it -doesn't-. They're too fixated on the sexual aspect rather than the personhood aspect IMO.
Even if queer is a slur in many places, I'd still prefer it, or another term, over the letter salad that is required to include everyone that our cultural normalcy niche -excludes-.
Confused?
