Complete Monster Award
Your life is of no value.
[Bolding mine]
One of the men I interviewed, Gaurav, had raped a five-year-old girl. I spent three hours filming his interview as he recounted in explicit detail how he had muffled her screams with his big hand.
He was sitting throughout the interview and had a half-smile playing on his lips throughout - his nervousness in the presence of a camera, perhaps. At one point I asked him to tell me how tall she was. He stood up, and with his eerie half-smile indicated a height around his knees.
When I asked him how he could cross the line from imagining what he wanted to do, to actually doing it - given her height, her eyes, her screams - he looked at me as though I was crazy for even asking the question and said: "She was beggar girl. Her life was of no value."

This is what comes of putting a sliding scale on the value of a life. Because they're poorer than you, because they're a different race than you, a different religion than you, because once they broke the law, even because you hate them.
That's a standard I have a hard time living up to. I can be so full of hate it frightens me. There are people I genuinely think I'd kill with my bare hands. But when I think about why I hate them so much - the way they play with lives like toys and discard their humanity - I have to curse myself for being a hypocrite. Whatever my reasons every life I cheapen that way only devalues my own. I do truly view people like this as animals, but even the life of an animal has weight. A rabid animal has to be put down but only someone rather sick would look forward to the act, and only something even worse would want to expand the definition to see more rabid dogs.
Your talents are needed, Kenshiro.

"You! Even Hell is too good for a creature like you! I'll make sure that nothing remains of your body!"
@Passerby . I see no hypocrisy. a person like this isn't even an animal, he's a monster with literally no personality outside of being a monster. you'd only be only be no better then him for thinking those things if he was human.
I know people won't like what I've said but would you object if I was talking about Hitler himself? because this guy is just as bad. and to be clear, I feel this way only about the absolute worse individuals. even Jeffery Dalhmer had some humanity in him as he regretted what he did.
People can be monsters. This one certainly seems to fit all the criteria, with bonus material left over.
Maybe some people are born bad, but I tend to think most people who end up this dehumanised and debauched started as victims. That doesn't let him off; maybe it's even the opposite, since he should know better.
Passerby is right. Sliding scale on human life? That's a fucking dinner bell to creatures like Gaurav.
I found more information about this case , both innerving and satisfacting:
For India’s Daughter she spent 30 hours interviewing rapists including Gaurav, a 34-year-old man serving 10 years for raping a five-year-old. “He told me in minute detail what he had done. How he had taken off her knickers. How her eyes were wide with fear. How he had done it front and back. I asked him how tall she was. He stood up and put his hand above his knee. I asked him, How could you do something so terrible that would ruin a child’s life?’ He said, She was a beggar girl, her life was of no value.’” Udwin found the girl, Neeta, now aged 10, and plans to make a film about her family’s resilience and resistance. “She is doing OK. Her mother is a beggar and has put Neeta and two other children through school.”
Let's hope he spent ten painful years.
@JeanP :
Good to hear that. Kudos to Neeta for enduring and to her mother for managing to get her and the siblings an education. May it allow them to get off the streets and to give their own children a better start in life than they got!
As for Gaurav, it is very clear that it is his life that is of no value. Only ten years - he deserves far, far worse. Don't they have the death penalty in India?
I hope that, if reincarnation is true, he will be reborn as a maggot. Though even as one, he would still be less disgusting and of more value than he is in his current life.
Confused?
