When Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire under the Emperor Constantine in the fourth century, the culture of Europe soon separated itself from the rest of the world by combining the practical, worldly philosophies about nature and industriousness from their pagan teachings with an abstract yet resonating message about morality and existence beyond this universe from the teachings of Christianity. This gave Europeans a well-rounded basis for their morality that encouraged social cohesion and spiritual unity with an inquisitive, empirical philosophical side that allowed their societies to advance culturally, technologically, and ideologically. Throughout European history, there are many contrarian philosophers who inspired many revolutionaries and reformers who irreversibly changed their societies while at other times, there are unified European coalitions fighting against common enemies united under the flag of Christianity and by extension Western culture.

Contrast this to the extremely conformist Confucian ideologies that have held Asians back since the glory days of the Ancient Chinese dynasties that produced brilliant philosophers like Sun Tzu who wrote the groundbreaking "The Art of War" that was filled with illuminating contrarian insights. In the modern age, however, unfortunately, conformist minds drowned out contrarian minds in Asia, and there are so many lethal consequences. Brutal fascist regimes can only come to power in predominately conformist societies, and the brutal communist dictatorships of China in the past and North Korea in the present are examples of the consequences of a society that defers to authority at the cost of their freedom.
