I've been tested as being at 145 IQ since before high school and when I was a computer programmer many of the other guys put up similiar numbers. So it's not anything unexpected to encounter another bright guy.

But then I look at those numbers and realize what a small percentage my IQ level and above represents in the overall population and it makes it really clear why things happen as they do.

My calculations say out of 320 million Americans only 2.5 million are at 140 IQ and above.
Most people are just really stupid.

I'm not saying this as an insult, but a realization of why things like political correctness became accepted by so many.

Emotional indoctrination literally rules over weak minds.

Women are weaker than men as well.

To be a master race... all those "masters" should have high IQ.

Hey I got an idea... what if you allowed a type of "natural selection" to give advantages to... yeah you know where I'm going...

Too bad the high IQ doesn't guarantee reproduction. (a slight problem)

Well, we have to wait for designer babies before we fix politics because stupid people will always choose stupid politics.

Maybe require a certain IQ (100 or above) to vote?

You're saying that emotion indoctrination rules over weak minds, but nothing you've said here is based on science or fact. It's based on how you feel your supposed high IQ makes you better than everyone else; an egotistical, emotionally driven opinion.

Also, politics are far more complicated than that. Party lines are not divided by what particular range your IQ happens to fall in. If that average IQ of Democrats v Republicans was different by even a few points I would be very surprised.

(And none of this is touching the fact that there is no consensus on what IQ even measures (certainly not common sense as we see here), or that denying half the population the vote based on an irrelevant number would be a massive violation of rights.)

If you want to get into an IQ pissing contest? You lose. Why? Because I know a guy with an IQ well into the 190-200+ range who abhors attitudes like this.

My own IQ is roughly the same or somewhat higher than yours. My views and habits are much the same as my friends.

You sound more like an egotistical moron who flouts his somewhat high IQ in a pathetic attempt to feel superior to others, and especially women. So.. do you really want to go on about emotional indoctrination?

Except that because IQ is based entirely on averages, of course having an IQ of 140 means you're "smarter" (jury's still out as to whether or not IQ actually means anything) then a majority of the population.

See here's the thing jackass, IQ has been progressively reevaluated downward since it inception. Simply put, today's 100 is yesteryear's 110.

As for your special snowflake syndrome, there is a correlation of IQ and social activism leaning towards left-wing/centrist causes. Again, higher intelligence is seems to have a relationship with "PC"ness.

So, let's review, IQ makes about as much sense as power levels in collectible card games, is continually redone to match with the day's "smarter" populace, and higher IQ individuals tend to be more PC.

You may find that emotional intelligence counts for a great deal more in life. Not many people will be interested in you acting entitled and waving around a test score that tells us nothing else besides your ability to solve particular types of problem. You will also find that there are quite a number of people here at FSTDT, myself included, who won't find your score dauntingly impressive. In short, don't let it go to your head.

That's a dick measuring contest you automatically lose just by entering it. And keep in mind that's before you even find out how poorly you measure up against your intended opponents.

Just try using what you were given a little more thoughtfully. Creativity and consideration get you a lot further than an overly swollen head.

IQ... is defined... AS A NORMAL DISTRIBUTION YOU LYING LIAR! THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS BE BELOW 140! ONLY ABOUT 5% SCORE ABOVE 125!!

I'm not going to challenge your IQ. Mine was higher .....but that was tested a lifetime ago when I was a student, so I question its relevance when applied to adults. But there are some facts you can't avoid: stupid people will always be with us, as will the average, as will the fairly intelligent.

Even the smartest people in the world must deal with all the others, so it behooves us to learn that fact early, and learn it well. If you know something complicated, can you explain it clearly and simply to someone not so intelligent? And can you talk to them without disparaging their intelligence? (t would appear not, if this is a representative sample.) And could you possibly devise a test that will distinguish the smart from the dumb before you give them a license to have children? Oh, wait......

If you're going by IQ that, by definition, can't be true. an IQ of 100 is average, always. So, on average, a person has an IQ of 100

Yeah, a score which MIGHT measure the pure technical inteligence to some extent(it doesn`t measure your ingenuity for example) while completely ignoring the others, equaly valuable parts like emotional, social, empathic inteligence. You sir for example are a complete emotional and empathic retard.

Tested by whom, and why? I've done self-tests on the Internet and I'm smart enough to know that those aren’t really valid.

IQ only says you are good at IQ tests, silly boy. You are obviously among the dumb people who think political correctness (AKA treating others with respect) is a bad thing.

I don't know for sure, but with IQ of 100 to vote, you might get more Liberal and Socialist votes, as it takes a bit of education to see how society as a whole can benefit from something, even though you personally will remain at status quo.
