[About the Korra finale]

I can’t believe this happened on Nickelodeon. I’m in shock. But then again, considering all the other signs in American culture, it shouldn’t come as a surprise at all. I’m just heartbroken. I can take the opposing viewpoints, but now they’re targeting our children?

they did it in such a subtle way that you can deny it if you want.

Skidie

No, it is you who are in fact targeting OUR children with your hateful filth. Keep away from the kids Sicko!

9/18/2015 2:36:00 AM

Say what you want, but I didn't even ship these two and I think it was done quite beautifully.

Butthurt homophobic shipper is butthurt.

ChakatBlackstar

It took you until the finale to figure it out? The show was clearly shipping them since the start of season three. Also, it's just two girls dating. Get over it. You see straight couples in TV shows all the time but you don't see anyone complaining about that stuff being targeted at kids even when people should be, such as when it's portraying an unhealthy relationship like Beauty and the Beast's portayal of Stolkholm Syndrome as a positive thing.

I had to look that up, as I don't watch Nickelodeon....damn, that's pretty cool!

Oxymoron's Razor

I'm normally not one to go to extremes, but screw you with a rusty metal cactus Jamie.

Korrasami was a beautifully told story-within-a-story.

Metal Christian? Pah! You mean the dumbed-down, insipid pussified version called christian metal. Real metal is not christian. Its very core runs contrary to christianity.

"I can’t believe this happened on Nickelodeon. I’m in shock."

Same. In a GOOD way.

"But then again, considering all the other signs in American culture, it shouldn’t come as a surprise at all."

I'd argue that the "other signs" make it even more surprising.

"I’m just heartbroken."

Why? Is true love bad now?*

"I can take the opposing viewpoints, but now they’re targeting our children?"

One, no you can't. Two, no they aren't.

*Or maybe this dolt's just a MaKorra shipper?

Dr. Razark

Had to go look it up.

What's the big deal? If your sexuality is influenced by what you see in popular culture, then you've got a pretty loose grasp on it in the first place.

I’m just heartbroken

THIS IS NOT THE SENTIMENT OF TRUE METAL! YOU HAVE ANGERED THE GODS OF HARD ROCK AND ELECTRIC GUITARS! ROCK OUT TO 'IRON MAIDEN'S "NUMBER OF THE BEAST" 12 TIMES TO REPENT OF YOUR WEAKNESS, OR YOU SHALL NEVER ENTER METAL VALHALLA, AND WILL FOREVER LANGUISH IN THE LANDS OF FLAVOURLESS COTTON CANDY AND LADY GAGA! RENOUNCE YOUR PUSSIFICATION, AND ONCE MORE BECOME METAL!!

Why were the fundamentalist Christians upset about Korrasami of all things? Shouldn't they have been upset at Vaatu much earlier, either for:
- the good deity being portrayed as pretty obviously feminine
- OR everyone constantly referring to Vaatu as a villain even though he acts just like JESUS!!!! (insert those annoying dancing smiley gifs)

9/18/2015 7:29:58 AM

What'd I Do

"Opposing viewpoints" as in homosexuality and bisexuality exist?

9/18/2015 7:43:23 AM

@ Nemo

From now on I will call Vaatu Flatworm Jesus.

I'm just annoyed that there's no more to watch.

Are people still talking about this?

Insult to Rocks

I don't think the writers of the show should have to apologise for canonizing the only relationship in that show with romantic chemistry, especially after the multi-season long debacle with Korra's previous love intrest. Hell, she could have fallen in love with her damn wheelchair, so long as it didn't take up half a goddamn season, so stop pushing your prejudices and let the writers do what they want.

I’m just heartbroken. I can take the opposing viewpoints, but now they’re targeting our children?

Obviously you can't Jamie.

9/18/2015 8:15:35 AM

undie not fundie

Is he talking about homosexuality?

9/18/2015 8:36:52 AM

Sweetride

I agree with this article on gay couples. How can they do this toward the children?! OH! For what shame has our christian country has become.

9/18/2015 9:14:13 AM

Doubting Thomas

So something just vaguely hinting at a romance between two girls warrants "ZOMG!!!! THEY'RE SHOVING HOMOSEXUALITY DOWN ARE KIDS THROATS!1!1!!!!"

SpukiKitty

@Indicible & Paler_Face
"Pussify"? I find it funny that a super-powerful female body organ (and femininity in general) is being equated with weakness. I share your sentiments but you inadvertently said a boo boo.

PUSSIFY = POWERFUL!

Maybe "Wimpify" or "Jello-fy" would be a better.

Yep, those were the days. Sexism, racism, persecution, brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.*

Better not tell him about Steven Universe then, huh? He'd have an apoplectic.

Yossarian Lives

I'm in shock that they're still going on about this. I'm not in shock that they think portraying romance between members of the same sex means an attempt to convert, though. Are you scared that they might act like you?

@ Doucheride

Oh no, we're teaching children tolerance and to be accepting of things outside a very narrow social norm. The world is going to end!

Korra and Asami are cute together and I like the ship.
