"Stand your ground with your 2nd amendment teddy gun."
You do realize that most of these Chicago-based killings are either suicides, or take place between inner-city gang members who couldn't give a shit about anti-gun laws if they tried, or were committed (lawfully or otherwise) by cops, right?
Yes, I will stand strong with OUR (not "my") Second Amendment, thankyouverymuch. If you want to live where human rights are actually considered negotiable, I hear Anon-e-moose needs a new flat-mate. *smh*

A crime index drop from 762.8 in 2001 to 562.0 in 2011 is a significant drop and the crime index has dropped every year since Emanuel became mayor.
Also I should point out that Chicago has had a democrat for mayor since 1931 and that Daley was quite a liberal himself, being very anti gun to the point where he said that he believes no one but cops should have guns. He was also LGBT friendly, very much so.
So yeah this is a laugh. Daley was as big of a liberal if not more of one.
Meanwhile, whenever people blame lack of gun control for massacres, "OMG, stop politicising tragedy!"
Remember, not long ago, a racist conservative named Dylann Storm Roof?

Let me say first of all I'm not sure anyone should own guns. Not the people, not even the government.
Most illegal guns come from people who bought them legally. The legally purchased arms are then resold illegally--for example, in face-to-face purchases or sale on the black market--or given to other people without licenses. And the guns sold on the streets are often marked up something awful. They're not cheap.
And I have my doubts about carrying weapons being a human right. It promotes violence and causes a whole host of troubles.
I am aware my personal positions are not going to be achievable in the government, so I support, at the very least, comprehensive and thorough background checks to ensure guns are going to go in the right hands at least a smidge more of the time.
Confused?
