Y'know, Banana Guy; In the original Hebrew & Koine Greek, the Bible never said a stay in Hell was eternal. That was a mistranslation brought on by corrupt early churchmen to better control the flock via fear.
In reality, Yeshua said people go to Inferno for "a season/an age".
And sending souls to Inferno for stupid reasons like worshiping Deity the "wrong" way or being born with a brain wired to prefer the same sex or enjoying a bacon & cheese sandwich or good grooming is well.....STUPID!
The punishment should fit the crime, dammit! Unrepentant murderers, rapists, embezzlers, con artists, robbers, tyrants, hoodlums, abusers, sadists & all-around buttholes should go there!
Good rule of thumb: If you are a malicious person doing malicious, malevolent things and are genuinely unrepentant....It's time to fry....for a temporary span of time.
A lot of spiritual traditions have some sort of "Inferno" concept and it even shows up in Near Death Experience reports of some, which is why I, despite being a NeoPagan, believe in Inferno (I use 'Inferno' because 'Hell' is an early church corruption of a Norse Hades-like Devi and her realm, both called 'Hel').
