Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and possible 2016 Republican presidential candidate, says he believes homosexuality is a choice. His proof? Prison.
"A lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight," Carson said in an interview with CNN Wednesday. "And when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."

I've known a few ex-cons in my time, and none of them changed their orientation afterwards.
"Gay for the stay" is just that.
Homosexual ain't go nothing to do with it. They don't fuck you 'cause you like it. They just fuck you just to see that look on your face.
Richard Pryor about filming Stir Crazy
And to think Dr. Carson was thought to be a great neurosurgeron before his involvement in politics.
"And when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."
Well, that one has me baffled...
The first backpedalling of the 2016 election.
Ah, don't you just love the Repubican'ts?
@JeanP
He was a pretty damn good neurosurgeon. However, strong with this one the ultracrepidarianism is, and he's running his mouth on a lot of topics he doesn't know about. It would be like me yammering about macroeconomics beyond the basic shit.
If I may be poetic for a moment, Good GOD I hope he makes the ticket. He'll be steamrolled by whoever the Democrats nominate, even though a chicken would do a better job than any of the republican clowns. It's a damn shame that someone who was a successful neurosurgeon would turn out to be such an idiot.
I read that his specialty was literally removing half of the brain; I suspect he practiced on himself.
Homosexuality is the attraction to people of the same gender. It is not having sex with a person of the same gender.
If you're in an all-male or all-female environment, you only have people of the same gender to have sex with, regardless of whether you're attracted to them or not.
Homosexuals have hidden their sexual-orientation in the past (and present), married and had children with people of the opposite gender. That doesn't make them heterosexual.
(Like Red says in Shawshank Redemption, about the thugs who want to rape Dufresne, "They're not gay either. You have to be human for that; they don't qualify".)
He has apologized for that comment. It's hard to know which would make a worse president, a neurosurgeon who doesn't believe in evolution, a neurosurgeon who would carelessly throw out a dumb statement about homosexuality, or a neurosurgeon who thinks that because he apologized we will cut him some slack.
When I was in middle school we read Carson's autobiography and then went on a field trip to see a lecture of his. What I remember most about it was a part in his book when he talks about these fits of rage he would have as a young man where he would completely lose his mind and break things and even sometimes hit people. Until he locked himself in a room for a day and prayed to Good to fix him. And he never lost his temper again.
Nobody else in class seemed to think that was as insane as I did.
How nice that dr Carson, a respected neutosurgeon, has donated his brain to science
It's just too bad iit was before he decided to run for office
This guy was a TALENTED, RESPECTED ACE NEUROSURGEON?
How can someone so smart be someone so stupid?
This may be evidence that many of these wingnut politicians & religious leaders really don't believe their garbage and are just in the game for power, dominance & big bucks. Why else would a person that should know better espouse this sort of stuff?
Confused?
