It is common among unscrupulous debaters to create a “straw-man,” easily rip it apart, and run off declaring yourself the winner.

However, this isn’t about winning or losing a debate. It’s about where someone will spend eternity, so these issues should be addressed.

As Christians, we often have to put up with our beliefs being misrepresented through straw-man arguments, and this gentlemen has a misrepresentation in each sentence.

We are not talking about “the Christian God.” We are talking about the one and only Creator. There is only one God, and the First of the Ten Commandments begins with “You shall have no other gods before me.” Since then, man has made up millions of other gods (Hinduism has 450,000,000).

The second straw-man is to say that God is “all loving.” Nowhere in the Bible does it say such a thing. God is love and mercy, but He’s also justice and truth. To say that He is all loving is to create another god. It’s like a vicious murderer believing that the judge before whom he stands condemned, will let him go because he is “all loving.” Such a thought is ridiculous.

If a judge is a good judge, he will see to it that a murderer gets exactly what he deserves. The best of us deserve Hell in the eyes of our holy Creator, but the Scriptures tell us that God is rich in mercy and offers us Heaven.

So the "one and only God" is not the God of the Christian religion. I see.

Uhh. No. Hinduism does no work that way.

Depending on what branch of Hinduism you follow, the vast majority of those gods (end even then, they are not that fucking many) are:

Human incarnations of other gods. Like Rama is considered as divine as the god he is Avatar of, Vishnu.
Local deities.
Gods who are considered aspects of other gods. Kali comes to mind, since she's ne of the aspects of Durga, and Durga is kind of one of the personalities of Shakti.

Which, of course, will bump the count accordingly.

And even then, it kind of depend on which tantrism you follow o if you are a Vedic Hindu or a Vishnavist Hindu and so on and so forth.

Fuck, Hinduism can even have a conceptual monotheism, depending on the branch. Like, tere's the overarching concept, the Om, base of the universe, Creator, blah blah blah. The Om is represented by the Adi Parashakti (Great Divine Mother) and Adi Parabrahma (Great Divine Father), because, due to the doctrine of Karma, everything is fundamentally dualistic in nature. The Great Mother is embodied by the Tridevi (which is also considered a concept by itself, nacht), or the Three Goddesses, embodying femininity in all its forms: Sarasvati, Lakshmi, and Parvati/Durga/Shakti/Mahakali. Then, there are their spouses, Trimurti, or the Three Gods (who are an even bigger deal than the Tridevi), which are BRahma, Vishnu and Shia/Mahadeva/Maheswara (that's how you know a god does shit in Hinduismthere's like a million names for you).

(Note that there is even more variation and shit).

In other words, "I don't know what I'm talking about" stinks all over the place

I think I will be spending the eternity after life in the same place where I spent the eternity before life. In non-existence, that is.

As atheists, we almost always have to put up with our lack of belief being misrepresented through straw-man arguments, and Bananaman is a master at creating these kinds of straw-men. Shiny mirror is shiny, Bananaman.

Every single religion (almost) states that there is just one god, and that it's their particular god. What's so special about yours, Bananaman?

Ap, ap, ap, Hinduism is not "since then", silly boy; it's thousands of years older than Judaism.

If a judge is a good judge, he will see to it that a murderer gets a stricter sentence than a person eating shellfish. He will also see to it that the penalty is in proportion to the offence.

"We are not talking about “the Christian God.”" - So you admit it? That the loving god the mianstream tolerant Christians talk about is not the monster you worship? That you instead choose to worship the embodiment of malevolence and tyrrany instead?

To me it only shows Hindu's were much more creative inventing their religion that your inbred goat herders. Secondly, a lot of ancient deity's were concieved and worshipped far earlier than the names "Yahweh" or "Jehova" even came to be.

Is god just or merciful? If someone deserves hell but is allowed to go into heaven by brownnosing him, then how is god in any way just? If he raises his standards so high it is literally impossible to reach them then how is he merciful? Seriously, don't you even try to make sense?

Ray, one cannot be merciful and just at the same time! Either sinners are all punished, or all are forgiven. You cannot have both, you blithering idiot!

Honestly, I'm really, really, REALLY starting to loathe Ray so much there aren't even words to express how much.
