[re: same-sex couples' adoption]
What? Gay parents will choose a gay baby? How will they know the baby is gay? They won't. But the baby they choose will be raised as gay. The less gays the better in my opinion. I like all people, even gays, but I don't want to talk about gay things or hear gays stories or for someone to persuade me to be gay.

Repeat after me, It's nature, not nurture, it's nature not nurture. I could no more turn you gay than you could turn me straight. To tell the truth I have three kids, they're all straight. Of course I'm smart enough to know you can't change a person's orientation and it's futile to try. Unlike Telit Tothejudge
I've been taught french by a gay teacher for 4 years in school (age 13 to 17) and He was one of the nicest and funniest teachers around. But I can't remember him trying to turn anyone gay. Or telling gay stories (if you mean the happy kind of gay, then he did). He did talk about gay things. but that was mostly limitted to his future wedding wih his friend. I can't really call that offensive.
At the risk of generalising - do know a lot of gay people - more than the 5% average I perhaps should. But I have always found humour, tolerance, acceptance and understanding.
I think to some extent there is a both sides of the coin scenario. They have walked a mile in the other persons shoes. They have come to accept themselves - that sounds terrible until you realise a lot of people never do accept themselves.
Any phobia conducted against another person, persuasion, creed, belief, 'dis'ability etc is done so, almost invariably out of ignorance. If you can pretend theyre not people, if you don't know them, it's so much easier to demonise them!
Mandrake: Yeah, I think that's where the OP's "logic" lies.
Personally, I hate it when people try to persuade me to be gay. Especially when they use those powerpoint presentations. Boring! And the graphic design? SO tacky. You'd think that they could do better, what with their flawless decorating and fashion skills.
But the baby they choose will be raised as gay.
Because gay people only have gay kids, just like how straight people only have straight kids, right?
The less gays the better in my opinion.
The less morons the better in my opinion.

I sense a closet gay.
Boy, someone's a little bi-curious, aren't they?
If you think you can be persuaded to be gay, you probably already are.
Confused?
