Ignoring the rest of the raw stupid for a moment, exactly how are millions of rotting corpses good for the environment? That's just a massive breeding ground for all sorts of terrible diseases. Not to mention that it'll lead to an explosion in the scavenger population and most of those don't stick exclusively to eating carrion. Once the corpses are gone their now booming population will proceed to overhunt other species as they begin to starve, which may unbalance further systems.
