Quote# 104395

In a way you have to feel sorry for atheists. They say that they aren't a religion but all they ever do is talk about God. They have even formed churches where they gather to encourage each other to pretend He doesn't exist.

Now they are producing tracts.

Good for them. They continue to remind people about God, about sinful man committing atrocities, and the fact that we live in a fallen creation filled with disasters.

It’s the old “Don’t think of pink elephants” thing. If you tell someone not to think about something, and they will automatically do it.

May God condescend to use these folks for His glory...as He did with Pharaoh. with kings, and a host of other little rebels who thought that they were doing their own thing.

This is why the whole atheist churches thing makes me twitch. I get the point, but folks, there are lots of words for regular community gatherings.

Now they are producing tracts.

As said by a Christian. Both irony and hypocrisy were strong with Ray Cumfart when he was writing this. This is a WTF very well earned.

Now we know that Ray's god is in fact The Pink Elephant.

Goomy pls

They talk about Gobs so much because people who push Gobs onto them are ubiquitous.

Likewise Ray, I feel sorry for your inability to think logically, and your slavish devtion to a version of Christianity which contradics observable reality.

"Now they are producing tracts."

Great now we have atheists joining the littering race.

Oh well on the plus side we might some laughs when an atheists version of Jack Chick appears.

creativerealms

As he did with Pharaoh? Does Ray think there was a historical figure called Pharaoh? Pharaoh is a title not a person.

Well, Banana Man, what subject do you want to talk to us about? Flowers? Spring ahead, fall back? The new season of Elementary? The fact I can't turn on the TV in the morning without running across you bible pounders? Or that every election, national, state or local, is soon drowning in Jebus talk? Sure Ray, please fall down a flight of steel steps soonest.

Mister Spak

Just wave a banana at them and those atheists will flee screaming in terror.

"In a way you have to feel sorry for atheists. They say that they aren't a religion but all they ever do is talk about God."

Funny, you say Christianity isn't a religion.

"They have even formed churches where they gather to encourage each other to pretend He doesn't exist."

I agree with you. That was a terrible idea. Doesn't mean I'm not an Atheist.

"Now they are producing tracts."

So? Does making fan material about Pokemon make someone an Arceusologist? No.

"Good for them. They continue to remind people about God, about sinful man committing atrocities, and the fact that we live in a fallen creation filled with disasters. "

Ah, classic Presupposition apologetic. begging the question. You have to CONVERT us before you convince us of that stuff. Not happening by the way.

"It’s the old “Don’t think of pink elephants” thing. If you tell someone not to think about something, and they will automatically do it."

What does that have to do with anything?

"May God condescend to use these folks for His glory...as He did with Pharaoh. with kings, and a host of other little rebels who thought that they were doing their own thing."

Oh right, us burning in hell is all part of God's plan. k.

Now they are producing tracts.

More fundie outrage that anyone should use any method to try and persuade another person of something not believed by fundies.

Happy Atheist

Actually, most atheists don't think or talk about gods much at all in day to day life. They're a non-issue. It's only when having a discussion about religion that it really comes up, which also appears to be your only interaction with atheists. That would probably explain why you seem to think atheists talk about gods much.

10/30/2014 5:25:18 AM

LyingForJebus

The only time I think about god is if I see my family praying infront of me on thanksgiving or if someone brings religion up in anyway, shape, or form.

I don't sit there obsessing over god like you fundies do.

10/30/2014 5:31:06 AM

Rob aka Mediancat

No, Ray; I spend plenty of time talking about sports, comic books, history, reading and other things; we talk about God around you because that's the area where you claim you're an expert. (You're not.)

I'm not sure what kind of fallacy that is, but it has to be one. It would be like a Yankees radio host visiting Boston during a series bragging that all Red Sox fans ever do is talk about the Yankees.

Doubting Thomas

Why do I get the feeling that deep down Mr. Comfort is in turmoil and outrage at the thought of atheists spreading tracts which say there is no god?

And besides, normalbobsmith.com has had free anti-religion flyers for years: http://www.normalbobsmith.com/free/flyers/

Big Jilm

Yes, so where's are tax exempt status, fuckbag?

10/30/2014 6:47:26 AM

Nomen Nescio

banana man's upset about atheist tracts most likely because he actually believes tract littering is an effective way of convincing people. whereas most folks who write up atheist tracts deliberately try to make them funny (for example, the "kissing Hank's ass" one) knowing fully well that nobody was ever convinced of anything by reading somebody else's thrown-away trash, but some trash is at least amusing.

10/30/2014 6:47:49 AM

Observing the situation from a position of reason and secularity I frankly don't understand why religious organizations almost worldwide have tax-exempt status just for the sake of being religious.
They do charity, that's nice. But Microsoft also does charity (and has some tax exemptions for that). What else do churches do to earn themselves such a privileged status?

Good for them. They continue to remind people about Ray, about sinful bananas committing atrocities, and the fact that we live in a fallen creation filled with disasters.

It’s the old “Bananas are God's perfect food” thing. If you tell someone about that video, and they will laugh at Ray.

May Ray condescend (seriously, what does that mean in this context?) to use these folks for His glory...as He did with . with kings, and a host of other little rebels who thought that they were doing their own thing."

Improved? Maybe.

If Ray Comfort didn't evolve from monkeys, why did he do a video about bananas?

> They say that they aren't a religion but all they ever do is talk about God.

No, we just don't bring up the fact that we don't believe in God unless we're already talking about him. You've probably talked about TV, video games, politics, gas prices, the weather, literature, mathematics, computers, and more with atheists. You just didn't know they were atheists.

10/30/2014 9:17:02 AM

Funny you should say that. I seem to recall a ton of Christians complaining about Allah and Mohammad.

Atheism is not a religion.
It's a personal relationship with reality.

I'd like to see these atheist tracts.
Kissing Hank's Ass is great.
