(in response to Bill Nye pleading with parents to properly educate their children)
I agree! Parents need to “properly educate their children.” This would include teaching them the truth about evolution in order to prepare them to face the zealots who peddle their evolution religion under the guise of science. Part Four of The Creation Seminar entitled, “Lies in the Textbooks,” and my books: Help! I’m Being Taught Evolution in my Earth Science Class!, and, Help! I’m Being Taught Evolution in my Biology Class! would be a great start for curriculum!

Calling your video (well, videos, all of them) "Lies" is appropriate. Lies about science, the universe, and everything.
While we're on that topic:
Q: How can you tell if a Hovind is lying?
A: Check to see if their lips are moving.
Kent, nobody is taught about evolution in Earth Science class. You conflate everything in science which disagrees with your sacred myths* as being "evolutionism". Also, many of those lies in the textbooks you talk about are either not in there (Haeckel's embryos) or are you managing to misunderstand a textbook for twelve year olds (see videos of Kent and later Eric reading a passage about star formation and thinking that is the Big Bang).
*Cross off the last six words before the asterisk and the resulting sentence would still apply.

Ibuki agrees with Bill-chan that parents should make sure that their kids get an good education.
Of course, Ibuki's idea of a good education doesn't feature Kent-chan at all.
To the "Creationist" bunch; Listen very carefully....ACCEPTING EVOLUTION DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON LESS OF A CHRISTIAN, YOU MEATBALL-BRAIN! MANY CHRISTIANS ACCEPT EVOLUTION! THEIR FAITH IN DEITY HAS NOT BEEN SHAKEN! MANY ARE STILL DEVOUT, CHURCH-GOING PEOPLE! WHY IN THE SAM HILL IS THIS EVEN AN ISSUE?!!!!!!
I think I know why. With a lot of frummer pronouncements, most frums subconsciously know they are The Village Idiot who stand out like a sore thumb. Therefore, by forcing everyone else to accept their insanity, they won't feel like freaks.
That has got to be the answer. Otherwise, they would keep it to themselves, turn off the boob tube when a "racy" program comes on (rather than complain and demand censorship), quietly avoid Harry Potter books with no brouhaha & stay home when something akin to The Life of Brian/Dogma/Last Temptation of Christ hits the theaters.
It's not JUST about a psychopathic need to control, it's about insecurity.
At least teachers pay their taxes .
'Help! I'm being Taught Homosexual Sex in my Young Dung Ass!, and, Help! I'm Being Taught Erection in my Biological Ass!' is already in your curricubum , o Kentypoos. [/hyper-Schadenfreude ] >:D

"@anothga:
Let's just hope he's learned to pay taxes on those profits."
Because if he hasn't , then courtesy of the IRS, Bubba's gonna have a playmate for longer than Kent 'Oh, Mark 12:17 doesn't apply to me!' Hovind expected. >:D
> Help! I’m Being Taught Evolution in my Earth Science Class!
That IS a problem. You really should be taught plate tectonics in that sort of class, seeing as it's actually relevant.
Looks like public schools are teaching Christianity to kids as early as kindergarten.

Teaching kids good old testament values like how they're all sinful and must be punished, eternal torture, the killing of men, women, children, and infants...
Good christian old-testament values, those. I wonder how they align "thou shalt not kill" with that?
I wonder if they'll teach the kids about human sacrifice, that their parents can kill them if they're disobedient, and that their loving god will send bears to tear them apart if they make fun of old bald-headed guys. Should help them sleep at night.
Screw the church/state separation, I guess.

I think you've got something there. It's a lot easier to be deluded when you've surrounded yourself by others sharing the same delusion. That's why Christians tend to ban non-Christians from their internet forums and fundie conservatives tend to only get their news from Fox News.

Are you kidding? We've seen plenty of "Thou shalt not kill but it's OK if God does it because He is infinitely just and good" quotes on here.
@Doubting Thomas
"We've seen plenty of "Thou shalt not kill but it's OK if God does it because He is infinitely just and good" quotes on here."
Yes, I certainly know their arguments for the "if god does it". I was referring to the many examples in the bible of humans killing humans. I was trying to understand how one would make it clear to a child that humans can kill other humans "if god tells them to, but not if he doesn't"?
I also can imagine how much the fundies would whine if non-christian religions used the same "free speech" ruling that the Good News Club used to get their own religions into public schools. Maybe if we get enough religions represented, we can give all the kids weapons and have some real religious bloodshed on the public school playgrounds. The bible does say "Kill followers of other religions", I wonder if they're going to teach that in the "Good News" classes?
See, Kent, modern evolution is the basis of the biological sciences. You don't study real biology, you can't be a doctor or biologist of any kind. So, next time you start vomiting and have a fever, don't bother the prison doctor, just pray. Then you'll see why we study biology.
No, Kent, you don't understand. By properly educate, he means teach them how to think for themselves and understand that there are other explanations for things besides "God did it, end of story." And I agree with Mr. Nye on that, because that is actual education. Your idea of education is only education in some bizarre universe where up is down, right is left, dogs are cats, and you don't evade taxes.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
