Quote# 100064

I think “fraud” may apply to a person who claims to teach “biology” yet routinely mixes his religious beliefs in class about all life forms having a common ancestor or humans being related to bananas and humans being a fish (as you stated in the “Evolution vs. God” DVD). Maybe “charlatan” is a better word for these false teachers. Maybe the courts will explain to the folks at “Rational” Wiki that words have meanings and it is not good to falsely accuse someone of the crime of fraud (unless you have proof).

The government was wrong in my case as is shown in many of the filings posted on 2peter3.com. The reason we even have appellate courts and a Supreme Court is precisely because the lower courts can get it wrong. Being convicted by one person does not prove guilt. 6 million Jews were convicted and executed in Germany in WW II. Does that prove they were guilty of some crime? Watch the news. Often cases are overturned on new evidence. Sometimes many years after the conviction. Simple history 101 will show many examples. I know you are rejoicing that the lower court ruled against me just as Jesus’s enemies rejoiced when he was convicted and sentenced. Well, it’s NOT over. If I DO get the case overturned and it is admitted by a higher court that the lower court erred and I did NOT commit a crime will you also admit it or will you then think the higher court erred?

Goomy pls

History was overturned by new evidence. Evidence that suggested that creationism is a crock.

Give it up, Pineapple Caveman (my new name for Hovind, I finally saw what he looks like and he's HIDEOUS!).

*whoops* Got him confused with Ken Ham! Ham's the pineapple caveman ham-head. Hovind's just dorky-looking.

So Kent Hovind was not really arrested for tax fraud. No no it was a conspiracy by the church of evolution.

Shiny mirror is shiny, Kenty-poo. You're the charlatan (no scare-quotes needed, really), the one who want to mix silly creationist religiosity into biology. Real biology teachers use real science, which, for biology, includes the Theory of Evolution. The courts have already explained, loud and clear, that creationism is NOT science, in the Kitzmiller vs Dover trial.

If the lower courts get it wrong, you appeal to a higher court. Have you done that yet? They don't take on every case they are presented, ya know; there needs to be something new, that was not known or presented last time.

If you do not get admitted to a higher court, will YOU admit that you were wrong? Nah, didn't think so...

Most of those 6 million Jews weren't convicted, they were just collected and sent to the concentration camps, with no court hearing at all. Many were not actively executed, but died of starvation, typhus, pneumonia, etc. The Jews have, time and time again throughout history, been accused (and sometimes convicted) of the crime of killing Jesus.

If people ought to not mix religious beliefs with biology, keep creationism the fuck out of it.

What new evidence? The evidence that it wasn't *you* who was withdrawing all that money?

He wrote in prison...

You do NOT get to compare yourself to Holocaust victims, you prick! You actually committed theft by not paying taxes...that IS stealing so you ARE guilty of a crime! Shut up and take the consequences of your actions. I hate that my real last name matches his first name -_- (but then I think of Superman)

I really need to get down to Costco, since they're having a sale on irony meters.

I think "fraud" may also apply to someone who builds a theme park in his back yard without a permit, then tries to pass it off as a religious ministry in order to get around paying payroll tax and federal withholding laws.

Being convicted by one person does not prove guilt.

No, but being convicted by a jury of 12 people and then losing every appeal pretty much does prove guilt.

At least his use of Godwin is a bit different. instead of calling his enemies Nazis directly he's comparing himself to the Jews.

Problem is there is a bigger, more well known and richer Creationist (Ken Ham) who never got arrested. You would think he would be targeted too. Nope only Hovind. Casts doubt on the anti Kent Hovind conspiracy theory.

"Being convicted by one person does not prove guilt."

No, but the government provided some pretty good evidence you were guilty. Hell, even former employees of yours said you claimed to have found a way to cheat on your taxes.

Hovind sucks as law as much as he does at science.

His legal defense was that his property belonged to God and thus cannot be taxed. Also, income taxes are "voluntary".

Any surprise he's in prison?

1) I think "fraud" applies to people who try to hide their wealth from the IRS. It's evident that he has learned nothing and shows no remorse.
2) A very small percentage of the 6 million ever went near a court; they were just killed.
3) If KH gets the higher court to overturn the verdict, of course I will respect the verdict. But given the tapes of Kent Hovind managing his affairs from jail played by the prosecution at his sentencing, I doubt that will happen. All his appeal to date have failed. Kent Hovind remains a clear danger to the public and should serve his full term.

Shit, he compares himself to Jesus Christ;
...the lower court ruled against me just as Jesus’s enemies rejoiced when he was convicted and sentenced.

Good to see that Kent is adapting so well to prison. He's already internalized the standard prison attitude. As they say, there are no guilty people in prison. They're all wrongly convicted, and their appeals will come through any day now.

Only one person was involved in finding you guilty? Let us know when you're exonerated by a higher court. We'll organize a banana split festival.

Kents been told to knock it off with trying to demean other diciplines with the religion label, He knows you have to have deity and ritual towards said deity to be termed religious. This is done to aggravate us and to make actual religious prople think all beliefs are equal in myth to Christianity.

You have NO EVIDENCE for any of your claim Kent, that includes you claim that you don't have to pay taxes and your claim your shit diploma mill credits are valid as actually educated people carry.

I think "fraud" best describes Kent Hovind and the way he denigrates science, whilst claiming he "taught high school science for 15 years". I'm sure what he actually taught was the antithesis of science.
