[Reacting to Leora Eisenberg's "Why I Choose to Dress Modestly"]

I am all applause for your article EXCEPT: You say "religious fundamentalism" as if it is a dirty thing. Fundamentalism is strict adherence to [ones faith], ...[where religious teaching] is taken literally and obeyed in full. When a person follows [doctrine], both [the] literal and implied, this is fundamentalism. For me, there is no other reason to be "religious". We either believe Gd or we don't, we either believe we have His Word or we don't and if we DO believe in Gd and we believe we have His command to us but we have no intention of following its fundamentals, what is the point? In reality, that tells us clearly that we do NOT believe that we can know anything about Gd by HIS Words or that we can even trust our sacred books to BE His Word; so we absolutely cannot believe in the faith we profess. I know; "the Jewish community must keep its identity". But I cannot fathom why because it is Gd who gave this "identity" and if we doubt and/or reject the fundamental teachings of Gd...I am just saying, what IS the point? IF you believe in Gd and believe Gd's Word, religious fundamentalism is not just a GOOD thing it is the ONLY thing. We cannot seriously believe Gd is Creator, that He is Sovereign, and yet say "We see your law and You are too strict, You are 'outdated'. We will do SO MUCH but NO MORE because we will not believe You actually meant what You said or at least that You meant for it to stand for us. We will decide what You mean and 'interpret' it where WE deem necessary and in OUR idea of the kind of god we actually believe You are." That will never do; it would never do for a human king and it will surely never do for our Gd. Gd is STILL Noah's Gd. Gd is STILL Avraham's Gd. Gd is STILL Moshe's Gd. Gd is STILL David's Gd. Gd is STILL the Gd of the Prophets. Gd did not change. It is not likely He left us a Word that would become "outdated" or "optional", especially not before Messiah. If we don't believe that, why "believe" at all..is it just me?

Stupidity is nature's way of reducing the population. Homosexuality is just a warning sign that human civilization is about to crash and burn. Maybe homosexuality in itself is wrong, mabe it isn't... but the "do whatever you want" attitude towards life that comes with homosexuality is going to cause no end of trouble for mankind.

[ Last time I checked, this attitude was more prevalent amounst straights than gays. "Do whatever you want" often means getting beaten up if you are gay, which I suppose is consistent with what you've written.. ]

Hey, I quit doing that about a decade ago...and it sure wasn't due to the school administration cracking down on it!

I used to beat up on and pick on the kids that came out early. The school administration looked the other way. I would often get a singe day of lunch detention for acts that would get a mandatory 10 year prision scentence now. I once beat a gay student with a stick, and got two days detention for damaging school property (breaking off the stick) and one day for striking a student with it. A long as you didn't attack any straight blacks or Mexicans, the school didn't really care and you could get off with only a purely ceremonial (beyond light) punishment. I quit when I realized that most kids coming out that young were probably sexual abuse victims and were probably just badly mixed up about their sexuality and probably alot of other things that were less obvious.

[ I guess I have to ask - why did you do this?I've never understood why anyone would pick on someone else as I've seemingly always wanted to stay out of any involvement with people.
Life is complicated enough without provoking more trouble.

At the time, I would get a mild sense of euphoria from it; kind of like a good airsoft war, or a mild version of the feeling you have getting off of a roller coaster. Not only did I not like homosexuals, but they proved to be a convenient way to get that sense of euphoria. :|

*waits for everybody to run away screaming*

[ I am shocked and saddened, but mostly I am disappointed. That sense of euphoria is also the same feeling that serial killers get when they murder people, Sean. It is horribly cruel and sadistic. I really don't know what else to say.If there weren't laws against it now, would you still do it? ]

No. I wouldn't feel like doing it again if I had the opportunity. I seem to have gradually lost pleasure in violence like that. I don't like homosexuality any more now than I did then, but I don't see violent acts accomplishing anything. I still think that hate crime legislation is BS, for reasons not exclusively realted to gays and not for running around hurting people. That would be a relatively low priority for me right now. I'm far more concerned about making laws related to self defense more conservative right now anyway.

All the stuff I described happened in middle school. I was just a fairly typical loner in high school.

Quote# 116458

Our Founding Fathers made Christian laws for the USA based on the Holy Bible. For example, it was George Washington who made the USA’s law to court martial homosexuals from the military. He did this because he wanted God to bless the military and the USA. Our Christian laws are one reason why God has blessed the USA.

If someone did not want to follow our nation’s laws, then they were not welcome and/or jailed. In the first extensive commentary on our Constitution, Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story explained that the First Amendment means Christianity only, not any other belief. This is the intent of our Founding Fathers. Justice Story’s popular 1833 work was reprinted for 72 years. He had been on the Supreme Court since 1811 and he wrote:

“The real object of the [First] Amendment was, not to countenance [approve], much less to advance Mohammedanism, or Judaism, or infidelity [secularism], by prostrating Christianity, but to exclude all rivalry among Christian sects [denominations]…”

The First Amendment of our Christian nation says:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of [one Christian denomination] religion, or prohibiting the free exercise [of Christian religion] thereof…”

The First Amendment is not meant for other religions but to allow Americans to practice Christianity in their Christian denomination. Our Founding Fathers declared independence with Christian liberty. Also notice the oaths taken in our nation to God on the Holy Bible. By including the Holy Bible we show this is to the LORD not a foreign god. It is important to understand these two points about our Founding Fathers. They believed:

1. Christian faith is the most important part of life, and

2. USA freedom is for Christian freedom, not all “freedoms”.

The only "religion" that is true is the one based on GRACE. Unlike man-made religions (such as Islam) that are merely attempts to reach God by doing good works, only Biblical Christianity involves God reaching down and giving man eternal life as a FREE GIFT. All a person must do is receive this gift by believing in Jesus Christ for it (John 3:16).

There is no "debate." "Abortion" is cold-blooded, brutal murder, period. And there is no such thing as "abortion." When you say "abortion," you are using that word as a euphemism for "murdering babies." Murderers should indeed be ashamed of themselves. And "women" would not ever murder their own babies, so you are incorrect also when you use the word "women" as a euphemism for "murderers."

Quote# 116455

On the first day the new president – in a year’s time, after his swearing in – would do the three things he promised he would do immediately: end ALL of Obama’s executive orders, stop Obamacare and institute Health Savings Accounts, and cut the head off of the snake called ISIS. In other words, from Day 1 we would have an acting president, again. His concrete plan to defeat, not just contain, the caliphate in Syria would be unleashed in a reign of power coordinated with many other willing partners. It will be called Operation Roaring Lion (borrowed from Hosea 11:10), and its objective will be a quick (one month) end to that plague.

Day 2 would see the complete emasculation of all the costly and nonsensical laws and regulations that impale Americans and their business opportunities. The day would also see a drop in the corporate tax rate to the lowest level in decades. Trump would then stop corporate inversion and bring back over a trillion dollars of American investment from overseas to be invested in new jobs here. Late in the day he would put a shovel in the earth, breaking ground for the new wall on our border with Mexico, to be paid for by a tax on Mexican oil. The wall will be technologically impossible to penetrate. At bedtime he would change America’s broken visa immigration program.

Day 3 Trump would start by endorsing the Second Amendment and ending gun control. Then he would roll out a comprehensive plan to immediately rebuild America’s military. It will reflect the voice of the generals and admirals and reposition America for strength. Specifically, it will deliver the world’s most formidable fighting force on the land, in the air, and on the sea. It will also put China, Russia and North Korea on notice. All of America’s international trade deals will be up for renegotiation, and burden-sharing will be effected with costs born by those countries we defend. The Iran deal would be rewritten in our interest, and Gitmo would be reopened.

On Day 4 Trump would announce the Keystone pipeline and American energy self-sufficiency. He would change the U.S. tax code and implement his tax reform plan. It would lower taxes for everyone and especially the needy and middle class. As a flatter tax, it would also end all the expensive gimmickry called tax planning and evasion. There would no deductions (except mortgages) and no loopholes. The corporate lobbyists would be out of a job. No one will need lawyers and accountants to do taxes any longer. The estate tax would also be repealed, at midnight.

Day 5 President Trump would announce a balanced budget and enact the line item veto. He will meet with the speaker of the House to say “we won’t do business the same old way.” All spending will progress in Congress as separate authorization bills, and there will be a firm cap on the debt ceiling. He will also announce a pledge, called “The George Washington Pledge,” whereby every House member and senator will sign a contract not to run for more than two terms. Like our founding president, this will return America to a republic without an entrenched “political class” and will allow those in public elected service to literally return to their own Mount Vernons to pursue private lives, rather than decamp in the nation’s capital for a lifetime. Anyone who refuses to sign it will be hounded out of office. And Trump will also announce that no elected or civil servant can ever lobby the government after leaving office – full stop. It would be made retroactive.

Day 6 will see the end of both the Department of Education and its Common Core, and the curtailment of the EPA. All funding for education will be reallocated to the states. This decentralization and empowerment of people, where they live, will be a continuing theme of Trump’s administration as an act of subsidiarity. Private education will be funded at the same level as public education, and parents will be given the freedom of choice.

The country will be turned around in six days.

On the seventh day, as in the biblical Genesis story, after Trump bans late term abortion and defunds Planned Parenthood, the president and the nation will rest. The president will encourage all Americans, as is our tradition, to give thanks to God, ask for forgiveness, be generous and attend the religious institution (or none) of their choosing. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done (Genesis 2:3).

America will be Great, again!

Better named the 'Homosexual Classrooms Act,' its chief advocate in Congress is Rep. Jared Polis, himself an open homosexual and radical activist.

That's why I need you to act quickly -- right away -- to protect our nation's youth.

I have prepared the official 'Protect Our Children's Innocence' Petition to Congress for you to sign.

You and I must defeat this disastrous legislation.

You see, the Homosexual Classrooms Act contains a laundry list of anti-family provisions that will:

*Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so 'homosexual students' don't feel 'singled out' during already explicit sex-ed classes;

*Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to 'experiment' with the homosexual 'lifestyle;'

*Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even 'sexually assaulting their classmates', as part of their specially-protected right to 'freedom of self-expression;'

*Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a 'hostile learning environment' for homosexual students.

And that's just the beginning of the Homosexual Lobby's radical agenda.

on having a gay child

Son is a boy. Daughter is a girl. No need to change the roles. I would be terrified but unlike some people i wouldn't "slap the shit" out of my kid because it wouldn't fix anything. But on the other hand i wouldn't support them either. I would let them know i am disappointed. And maybe cut off my bounds. If they wanna live like that and insist on it then they wont have my support about anything, they are on their own.
Also adopted kid is not your own kid. It's like owning a pet from animal shelter. You are not his\her mother or father and you didn't give birth. So You can try to act like it but the fact is there.

But in case it does happen, though it is very very very unlikely I would have to say that first I'm not against Gay's, but I do not want under any circumstance anything to do with them either. I honestly think it's weird and unnatural. That's just my primitive, honest opinion. That said, if my kid came up to me and said that I wouldn't be able to support the kid anymore but, on some level it's still my kid so I would still love them. I just wouldn't support them, but if they joined any of that gay propaganda shit to enforce it down our throats I wouldn't hesitate to beat his or her ass until it is black and blue.

on a professional athlete coming out as gay

Who cares about what his sexual orientation is or anyone's for that manner.....you don't hear other sports players saying "O'm straight".......this is more of a publicity stunt as now more people will know hos name.
Nonetheless I could care less whether hes gay or not or anyone for that manner keep it to yourself its personal. I don't hear people running around talking about how they like dick or pussy.

[[I actually hear about it all the time. Maybe no one says "I like dick/pussy/both. I mean I REALLY like dick/pussy/both. Did I ever tell you how much I like dick/pussy/both?" but people certainly do (and certainly should be able to) say "Wow - check out the hottie at the bar." Step out of the equation and think about it for a second. That's fine if you come from an area where white people were historically oppressed (where is this again?) but obfuscating the point isn't a defense of your argument. Historically - homosexuality has been maligned the world over - but no one has ever significantly oppressed heterosexuality. As a heterosexual individual you have NEVER been afraid for your personal physical or emotional well-being due to your sexuality. It's not the same with any other orientation. Saying "We should just ignore it because it doesn't matter" is not an option for those people - because, unfortunately for them, it DOES matter, not only because there are still assholes in the world who claim homosexuals are the antichrist or whatever, but also because they should be able to go to the bar and say "DAMN, look at that sexy manmuffin" without anyone saying "Ew, nobody asked about that keep it to yourself."]]

Whites were slaves during the times the egpytians were around and also during other time periods. The Jew's had it really, really bad as well as everyone knows.Whites have it just as hard as black people it's just that there tends to be more black/hispanic people in low income areas and their children end up not being brought up properly and end up relying on welfare for their income. I actually know a black guy that gets welfare & section 8 and gets paid to live for free, does not have to work, plays games all day and has a child.I have also witnessed white people filling out job applications checking off that they are hispanic when they told me that they're white and just lying about being hispanic so that they can get the job which actually works as some company's such as McD are paid to hire blacks/hispanics so that they get off welfare AND a lot of these places are ran by people that are prejudice. So go try living in the ghetto and tell me that the white are not oppressed in certain places.
I'm far from racist/prejudice but anyone claiming that blacks have it "hard" grew up with rich or well off parents as it's a load of bull.If someone says that they like dick or pussy who cares? It's all private talk I've yet to have a complete stranger walk up to me and tell me they like ass/tits/dick/ or anything as it's all private. Also, most men would take offense to a gay man calling them hot and men have killed themselves over the fact that a man had a crush on them and told a bunch of people. It would be like if a women went to a bar and she found out that another women was checking her out....the bottom line is that it's straight up offensive and sexual preference should be kept to yourself.

I know that for me if a guy liked me I would be offended. If I was on the same basketball team as this player I would be offended as well when playing if I see him checking me out or anything whereas if he just kept his mouth shut it wouldn't bother me.
As for your last quote it's irrelevant to what I was/am saying and there are mistakes in evolutioon that could make something "gay" just like how some women have facial hair or a mans body parts or are born with 2 heads.
I also don't believe in the notion of "natural" as everything can be labeled as natural as everything came/comes from the universe.I also don't believe in the notion of death, there's only a changing of conditions.

[[Just because you think such topics ought to be relegated to the private sphere does not mean that society acts in such a way; it is a simple fact that male expressions of sexual attraction towards women are the only explicitly tolerated public displays of this kind, and this is inherently discriminatory. ]]

It does not manner if a guy found out another guy liked him most men would punch that man in the face. It's offensive/disgusting and plain right embarrassing if you're straight and find out that another man likes you..
Nobody gives a crap if someone is gay or straight I say keep it to yourself. Telling another man that you like them could get that man person killed or the other man might kill himself. Gays are an extreme minority.

I can tell you now that if a man hit on me and hit on me he would get punched in the face.If you find out that a women likes you it changes everything as that is the norm and it will continue to stay that way. This is why sexual preference is for the most part kept private despite what you may say.

You're right I don't like labeling or labels but you are wrong on the point that everyone automatically assumes that you're straight. I can point out a person that is gay right away by the way they talk (their voice is a dead give away). I understand that some gays are more masculine but their are groups to meet other gays online and "hook up".

Hindu outfit observes Black Day on R-Day eve

MEERUT: At a time when the country is engrossed in Republic Day celebrations, at least 50 persons under the banner of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha waved black flags to observe 'Black Day' and 'mourn' the Constitution of India on Monday.

The leaders of the Hindu outfit claimed to have been celebrating the day for the past five decades to put forward their demand of declaring India a 'Hindu Rasthra' and protest against the Constitution which claims that India is a 'secular country.'

"The Partition of India took place on the basis of religion and eventually India was declared a secular country. Had India been secular, it would have had a Uniform Civil Code, which is not the case. We have been observing this day for over five decades now and will continue until India is declared a Hindu Rashtra", said Ashok Kumar Sharma, national vice president, Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha.

To mark 'Black Day' or 'Kaala Divas' - as the party members call it, member of the organization waved black flags at the office of Hindu Mahasabha on Sharda road on Monday.

Bharat Rajput, district president, Hindu Mahasabha, Meerut, said, "We do not believe in the Constitution of India and have been protesting against it for the past 50 years. Secularism doesn't exist in India and that is why we mourn the Constitution. When India was divided, Pakistan was given the title of Islamic state then why was India not given the title of a Hindu Rashtra? It is this Constitution, which has failed to recognize India as a Hindu state that all of us are against."

Earlier, arrests used to take place whenever black flags were waved outside the office but the court refused arrests after 1987. Every year, party members hand over a memorandum to the station officer of Bhrampuri police station, who further gives it to the district magistrate.

But to say that you hate a nation that has been completely wrecked by imperialist and UN sanctions and the systematic bombing and genocide of 4 million of their population, you are projecting an imperialist worldview. Make all of the criticisms of North Korea as you would like, I’m sure many of them are legitimate (personally many of mine deal with the relations of production and the way a proletarian dictatorship is supposed to function). [Why do you believe that homosexuality is a choice?

Secondly, do you also think discriminating against Asian people because of their race is worse than persecuting e.g. Christians? ]

Being a christian i dont i believe that were not born with the inclination to be attracted to the same sex. i would class persecutions of Christians on the same level of racism but not homophobia because i i believe its wrong, being prejudice against something i believe is wrong could never be on the level of racism of persecution.

Seriously guys its not a good idea to be openly gay in the street. Im not homophobic but i do not encourage or support homosexuality, if i saw a gay couple on the street i would probably have a go at them(nothing violent) because they are not thinking about the children. Kissing the same sex or holding hands with the same sex in public just gives children the wrong idea, they are young and you dont need to take away their innocence.

[ So you'd have a go at a hetro couple holding hands because of 'the children' too. ?
Also, what are you protecting them from? The truth? ]

Tbh, i have my views and opinions about homosexuality, i believe that homosexuality is a choice; nothing in nature or religion suggests that same sex relationships are meant to be. I feel that its more to do with society, enviroment and upbringing and exposing children to homosexuality makes them choose something that is not meant to be. Having said that i do not have problems with gay people, they can do whatever they like as long as it doesnt bother me but if they kissed in public it would bother me because of the children.

[So you think children should be sheltered from the fact that gay people exist? Nice one. This would never make them prejudiced later in life, would it... ]

If they were exposed they would think its ok which to me its not. but hey thats just my opinion.

Btw, im not like most of these hypocrite homosexual bashers who dont think male relationships are cool but get turned on by female relationships. i completely disapprove of all homosexual relationships whether it be male or female.

It's just not right and it's unacceptable for society to have to deal with. Not only that but it spreads diseases such as HIV. Even Jesus condemned gay-lords...
But that said, I'm not homophobic and don't mind gays if they keep their gay thoughts to themselves and don't bum around. Thats all i'm saying, homosexual activity should be made illegal and then gays will have to refrain from bumming.

Quote# 116422

Sadly, our President, even though he stated last night that he wants God to bless America, will not acknowledge the Creator God of the Bible—in fact, he has done the opposite: actively supported the removal of the one true God from the public arena. His belief in this regard was seen, for instance, in the recent lighting of the national Christmas tree in Washington, DC, when the President began his speech by saying “happy holidays”—twice.

While he may use the word Christmas on occasion, we all know that when the President says “happy holidays,” like in his speech, it’s largely a deliberate way to keep Christ out of Christmas. He has turned Christmas-related events into secular ones, instead of acknowledging the Babe in a manger—the One who came to be our Savior over 2,000 years ago.

Now, Christians should respect the office of the presidency and pray for our elected officials. But when their actions go contrary to the absolute authority of God’s Word, then we should say something.

Also at the Christmas tree lighting, the first lady, along with the Muppet character Miss Piggy, read a story from the children’s book A Visit from St. Nicholas—a story about Santa Claus.

So the President and the first lady have told Americans that the real reason for the season is to have a happy holiday and enjoy stories about Santa.

At our Christmas Town program at the Creation Museum, we celebrate Christmas in the right way: we reflect on the greatest gift God gave to mankind—the gift of His Son, Jesus—and worship Him. He was the Babe in a manger—the God-man—who came to earth to provide the only way for humans to live forever with their God.

Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus Christ (as we should do every day of the year) and remember the true account (the historical record) of the birth of a baby. He was the incarnation of the Son of God—the Son of God who took on a fleshly, bodily form.

Second, did God hear President Obama at the end of his speech when he said “God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America”? I suggest God did not. Hear God’s Word from Isaiah chapter 59:

And the President has helped this nation be “defiled with blood.” He has condoned the murder of millions of children in their mother’s wombs. The same President who said “God bless the United States of America” on Sunday night actually said this in July: “God bless Planned Parenthood.” In other words, he asked God to bless the biggest child-murdering machine in America! Will God ever bless a nation that is so guilty of defiling this land with the shed blood of millions of children?

I humbly suggest that God “will not hear” the President when he asks for God’s blessing on this nation! How could God hear this plea when the iniquities of this nation and the President are so great?

May God have mercy, and may God raise up people to repair the breach in this nation—a breach that has allowed rampant sin and the mocking of God’s Word to permeate the culture.

The prophet Isaiah in chapter 58 declared, “Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In” (verse 12).

This nation as a whole, and the President in particular, needs to repent before the one true God and return to His Word as the absolute authority in all matters of life and conduct.

The President can talk about the threat of continued terrorism all he wants. But unless this nation deals with gross sin that permeates the culture, I sadly predict that this nation will not see the end of terrible tragedies, like terrorism.

Proverbs 10:27
“The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”

The ungodly live for whatever gives them pleasure. They therefore involve themselves in illegal activities, indulge in alcohol, are given to the love of money and ambition, drink and drive, are given to anger and contention, and risk their lives with illegal drugs. They habitually overeat and develop the associated killer-diseases. They smoke cigarettes, speed in fast cars, risk their lives in extreme sports for a rush of adrenalin, their promiscuity brings sexually transmitted diseases, and they frequent bars and wild parties, where violence often breaks out.

However, the godly live God-fearing lives, and are therefore protected from many of these activities that so often result in premature deaths. The fear of the Lord prolongeth days.

Will There Be a National Darwin Day?

Will Darwin Day be honored as a national holiday here in America? Well, a resolution was reintroduced to the US House of Representatives recently to recognize Charles Darwin’s birthday (February 12, 2016) as a national holiday because of many absurd reasons. There has since been an additional resolution from a Democratic Senator that would show Congressional support for the Darwin Day distinction.

Now, some of the reasons listed nationally for celebrating Darwin, who of course was not an American, include the following:

•Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by the mechanism of natural selection, together with the monumental amount of scientific evidence he compiled to support it, provides humanity with a logical and intellectually compelling explanation for the diversity of life on Earth.

•It has been the human curiosity and ingenuity exemplified by Darwin that has promoted new scientific discoveries that have helped humanity solve many problems and improve living conditions.

•The teaching of creationism in some public schools compromises the scientific and academic integrity of the United States education systems.

•Charles Darwin is a worthy symbol of scientific advancement on which to focus and around which to build a global celebration of science and humanity intended to promote a common bond among all of Earth’s peoples.

These are terrible reasons to make Darwin Day a national holiday. Putting aside the fact that Darwin was not an American, Darwinian evolution has no confirmation in observational science. What we see in the world is consistent with God’s Word, not evolutionary ideas about the past, and much of what we observe actually contradicts evolutionary ideas.

Darwin isn’t a great example of “human curiosity and ingenuity”—he was compelled to come up with a way to explain life without God because he rejected God. Although AiG doesn’t lobby for it because creation would probably be poorly represented by teachers, mandating that creation be taught alongside evolution doesn’t compromise “scientific and academic integrity”—if done properly, it promotes critical thinking and inspires a desire to learn more about God’s creation.

And Darwin isn’t a “worthy symbol” of the promotion of “a common bond among all of Earth’s peoples.” He was racist and his ideas were racist! Choosing Darwin as the symbol of “scientific advancement” instead of many more worthy and less controversial figures like Newton, Mendel, or Pasteur seems to be nothing more than an attempt to push the anti-God religion of secularism on the nearly half of Americans who believe in a Creator.

Proposed Holiday Shows How Anti-God Our Society Has Become

This proposed new holiday only emphasizes how anti-God our society has become. Christian holidays like Christmas or Easter have been secularized to the point where Nativity scenes and crosses are being taken out of public places, yet a secular figure whose ideas on the origin of life are a major tenet of the secular religion of humanism can be publicly applauded and celebrated. It’s not really Darwin who’s being celebrated on Darwin Day, it’s an anti-God religion and its foundation of evolution and millions of years that’s being celebrated. Actually, the intolerant secularists (intolerant of Christianity in particular) are now wanting more and more to impose their anti-God religion on the culture.

On the home page of the International Darwin Day website (a website that promotes the celebration of Darwin around the world) scrolls several phrases: “Let’s celebrate intellectual bravery . . . perpetual curiosity . . . hunger for truth . . . Let’s celebrate Darwin Day.” It should be more like “let’s celebrate man’s fallible ideas being trusted over God’s infallible Word!” This is really a worship of man, a worship of the god of self.

Darwin Day is a day that celebrates the legacy of a man who elevated his own fallible ideas over God’s Word. Darwin took the things he observed—natural selection and adaptation—and leapt to the conclusion that these small, observable changes within a kind could lead to huge, unobserved (and still unobserved!) changes between kinds. But his ideas still have no observational corroboration. What we see in nature is kinds that reproduce according to their kinds with only limited amounts of variation within the kind. We do see common designs in all of creation but that is explained by a common Designer, not common descent. This is consistent with God’s Word, not Darwin’s imaginations about the past.

This February 12, I encourage you to celebrate the truth of God’s unchanging Word. Use “Darwin Day” as a springboard for conversations with your friends and family about the flaws of evolution and show them how observational science confirms God’s Word from the beginning. And then challenge people that the history in the Bible—starting with Genesis—is true, and that’s why the gospel based in that history is true.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Mexico: Attack against GMO lobby group in Mexico City injures two

In the fourth anti-GMO terrorist event in Latin America this year, the Mexico-based organization Alianza Pro Transgenicos (Alliance for Transgenics) was the victim of two recent bombing attempts. One bomb exploded from a package delivered to one of the alliance’s offices, wounding the organization’s Vice President, engineer Mario Berlanga, and an associate. The other package bomb delivered a day later was not opened and handed over to Mexican authorities, which are investigating. No one was seriously injured.

The bombing attacks on November 19 and 20 were seen as an attempt to intimidate the newly formed group, composed of 45 members of research organizations, universities, companies, and other organizations. The alliance is dedicated to opening doors to research and development of genetically modified agriculture in Mexico. Currently, one third of corn consumed in the country is imported, and since its inception in September, the Alliance has been urging the government to encourage more investment in research and development of genetically modified crops to feed a growing population and prepare for the effects of climate change.

A group called Por la Anarquía* claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Alliance:

“That damage will spread to those directly responsible, whether they are organizations, companies, institutions and individuals in particular. We vindicate the attacks (during the third week of November) through mail bombs and incendiary actions to Consejo Nacional Agropecuario.”

* Whether it is from stupidity or intention, the article quoted the name of a blog which posted the communique as authors, the attack was claimed rather by Círculo Eco-extremista de Terrorismo y Sabotaje, a group who also claimed two parcel bombs, abandoned at the Nuclear Research Center of the UNAM and Computer Research Center of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, last October.

Mat Staver: Gays Are Imposing A 'Jizya' Tax On Christians In America
On a recent "Freedom's Call" radio commentary, Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver declared that gays are now imposing a "jizya" tax on Christians in America.
Staver, the anti-gay legal activist representing Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, said that gays have borrowed the concept of the jizya, a discriminatory tax imposed on non-Muslims under Islamic law, and are now subjecting Christians in America to such taxes.
"Deep in the Islamic tradition is jizya, a tax which forces non-Muslims to pay an exorbitant fee for living within a Muslim state," Staver said. "Now, from farmers in New York to those offering wedding cakes, photography and other services, all have been fined thousands, and sometimes more than a hundred thousand dollars for having and acting on a religious belief that is different from homosexuals who demand their services. These fees and fine are in essence a tax on Christians who are living out their faith and beliefs in the businesses that they labored for and have built. In America, we should not fear paying a tax or fee to Muslims, nor to homosexuals, just because our faith is different from theirs."
